19. If you were teaching this course: a. What would you do to improve it? b. What would you change?

Maybe have a little more information from the text. Most of the information needed for success was from lectures. I would not have purchased the text had I known. I would add more fun ways of teaching, maybe add more class activites or projects. Make more homework, classwork, projects and pop up quizzes. I think it would be awesome to do a field trip or something outside the classroom related to anthropology once during the semester I think she did an admirable job, and was always ready for us. I don't think she needs to make any big changes. Nothing, this was a great class, and I leraned a lot

20. What do you think of the teacher and his/her teaching methods?

Very clear and concise. Appreciated the reviews of material covered from the last class at the beginning of each lecture. Truly a wealth of knowledge. She knows her matter well and teaches well but her class is very boring. It's good. She knows what to teach. I love the way Ms Hoff presents things. She's hilarious and always makes sure she doesnt lose us during lecture. She also rewiews the importiant points which helps me remember them on the tests:) She has a relaxed method, but is always on top of things. I never saw her unprepared. Jane Hoff is a joy to have as a teacher. I hope that I may take another of her classes in the future. Jane Hoff is a great teacher and I really enjoyed taking her class.

21. Has he/she contributed to your general knowledge or to learning job skills?

Absolutely. The material covered helped me in my other classes signifcantly. Yes! Yes. YES i have a new found intrest in going to Africa to dig up bones..haha not sure if thats going to happen..but yes i learned a lot She has greatly increased my knowledge of anthropolgy, and generally the world around me. I have a greater knowledge of geography, science and the evolutionary theory.Her lessons have tied in well with the Human Anatomy course I am taking concurrently. I learned so much

22. Other comments:

I hope to take more courses from her. She is very engaging and really gives you real life information. Wonderful professor. She is a very intelligent women and feel privilaged to have her as a teacher. She is a great teacher. She knows everything about the course. Thanks Ms. Hoff, you rocked my semester!

19. If you were teaching this course: a. What would you do to improve it? b. What would you change?

If I were teaching this course, I would give more exams because there are are many information that need to be remembered. I would allow students to earn grades not only by tests. If only the tests a counted toward your grade there should be a study guide provided for each test. We did not recieve any study guides or handouts throughout the semester. However, Mrs. Hoff wou really liked the class I am disappointed that Mrs. Hoff did not require the students to submit a project or write an essay on the subject matter. I would integrate that into the course. There was virtually no class discussions or class group participation.And zero indapendent thinking assignments Have class participation and group activities. There really isn't anything that I would change about this class. It was strange that we were not given any written assignments, and to just read our required texts by the given deadline, but it doesn't seem necessary now because the lectures and videos Probably nothing. She was VERY well prepared. She taught the class great. If I was teaching Anthro I would honestly give more assignments instead of just the 3 exams :) because it gives those of us who aren't so good at taking tests a little better of a chance to do well in the class. that's all. a. Nothing b. Nothing more videos talk louder and make class more interesting. everyone in the class was falling asleep. i felt kinda bad for her

20. What do you think of the teacher and his/her teaching methods?

I thing Jane is a well organized, intelligent and well dressed teacher. Her method of teaching may improve by giving more exams inbetween the real exams. Jane can really talk, and if you're not into listening well...you will fall asleep. Other than tha As a person Mrs. Hoff is great. I had a hard time getting involved in her class, because it seemed she was reading out of a text book. She did show us a few interesting movies that went with the subject matter. very informative great, except for the above mentioned... I enjoyed the class but other than the four tests there were no assignments that could help you improve your grade. Very boring! The lectures were informative and entertaining as well, I think that she presented the concepts well so that we would not have trouble understanding them later as we look over the notes we've taken. The videos were also helpul in providing a visual of th I think she is AWESOME. Super knowledgable. I really like Mrs. Hoff, she is a wonderful teacher, she always brought extra spunk into her lectures, humerous ways of relying what she was lecturing about to our lives. Her teaching methods were good. It was really interesting to listen her talking. I hope she was more motivating and encouraging. very good it was okay

Jane has contributed many information to my general knowledge and also to my job learning skills. To some extent. excellent Somewhat, I learn more when I am forced to do a project or essay yes No Much of the topics presented in the beginning of the semester was review from an anthropology class I've taken prior to this semester, but as the semester progressed I was introduced to more concepts; this class has expanded my knowledge on this subject. Very much so. I didn't even know what Cultural Anthropology was about before this class. Yes. Mrs. Hoff taught very well, she was never BIAS about anything in her lectures, and I felt that I learned, and bettered myself, I never felt as if she was putting her opinion on the class. Yes a lot. definately yes... it made me stop believing in god

22. Other comments:

Jane seemed very boring at the beginning of the semester but as we moved on I realize, that you just have to listen well and soak in this information that she is giving. After a while it really got interesting and the knowledge she gives out has changed none The only reason I put AGREE for grades fairly...was because she marked me wrong on mispelling a word! :) I still don't remember how to spell mediterranian right....maybe that was right. :) I like Jane Hoff and think she should continue teaching Anthro, but she should give a couple more, extra assignments---or with the reading of Aman, maybe have the class write a little report about it or something so that people would be more motivated to I didn't read text book at all.I shouldn't have bought it.I hope it was optional. ...
