13. What did you like about this course, such as activities, projects, assignments, etc.?

He made it easy to understand. Also, i have learned alot more that i need to know to keep myself and the company i will work for safe. I like the case studies after the chapters. It dealt with a lot of reality problems that happens even around us. This course was really helpful to me, i learned things i thought i couldnt have done or even experienced. the assignments to me was alittle challenging for me but i managed to to get some assignments done well as enjoying this course as much as i enjoyed the classmates. I liked the subject. Hospitality law was very informitive. The assignmnets were case studies and required my reasoning on the subject to complete. I liked the straight forwardness of the Law. the assignment helped me improve the knowledge of hospitality law. alot

No. NO do my assigments more clearly then poorly. I suggest group and teamwork. For James Ferguson to stay focused on the chapter we are on that day. control hilo students.subjects get off track every time

Nothing, Mr. Ferguson does it perfect. I would have nothing to change. i would give more class work then homework so i can get it done on time then not at all. I would make attendence mandatory unless worked out with instructor before class. I would focus more on the book. keep the topic on track.

Mr. Ferguson has tons of real-life experience that the books don't tell us and he is able to share with the students. The truth how lawsuits and the courts hold appeals and cases so you can prepare yourself. The overall concept of hospitality law the tests and quizzes Case studies. Learning that we don't have to be lawyers but we have to know that there are important Laws that apply to all industries. I learn how I avoid some situation involving sue in the hospitality industry. actual aplications and relivense of the laws and procedures.

I love coming to Mr. Fergusons class. He always keeps it fun and and interesting. Hes a wonderful person to know, in and out of class. That he is very formal about the information he gives to us and yet again he takes the time after class to answer any questions that his students have. Also he takes the time to give advice to his students about real life questions and what they should do to make the best career move. I've learned the general concept of supervisor in hospitality industry. It was very useful when I will work in that area in the future. what i like about the course is that we have plenty of assignments, and assignments is good to me because i can understand more about the course. Mr.Ferguson is a great motivated instructor i liked everything about this course, i learned alot, made new friends and learned about things i thought i wouldnt have a chance to even learn about it. I liked that there was assignments and course work that challenged my problem solving abilities. Most of the assignments were of case studies and asked for my opinions based on the reading in the book. I liked the assignments.

14. Any suggestions to improve this course?

No. NO he is good. so i like this course. more classwork then homework Group and team work would be cool. The reason is to work with others, see where there at and them see where im at. I would like if James Ferguson stayed more on the topic at hand. A lot of times the topic would be switched over to something irrelavent to the course or chapter we were studying at the time. He went off on tangients. I would like more focused and organized learning. mr.ferg dont let hilo over power u on subjects.

I would make homework as handouts and not on the computer. I would not change anything because i think that this class is being teached very well. Using visual materials to improve understanding the subject more clearly. i would not change a thing. nothing. i wouldnt chance anything, i think i would of handled this class just as well. Mr Ferguson did a well good job on teaching us this course and hope to learn more abourt it in the future. I would do group and team work. I would stay more focused on the chapter at hand we were studying and try to involve both sides, Hilo and Kona in the conversations. discipline hilo students about off subject relevency

That Mr.ferguson has lots of experence to share with his class. i find this course valuable and helpful to me now because it motivates me to get a job in a hotels. 13. What did you like about this course, such as activities, projects, assignments, etc.?

I like about this course is doing all the assignments and i learned a lot. The things that i like in this course are when we are going to a field trip. It really helps us a lot. Because when we go to the different departments,the General manager or the one that was touring us is explaining the departments or what are they doing. So it is good. I liked how Mr. Ferguson lectures, he is very thourough with his words and give us good examples all the time. I liked the course's whole entire schedule and how it has been runned over the years. I have a cleaning business and I thought this course benefited me to my best ability. I learned so much. I really enjoyed this class really much because there was video to be showen and that when ever we had questions he was alwasy there to answer question I especially enjoyed the semester project of designing our own suite.Being able to create something from our own imagination hands on was great. It was exciting! I really enjoyed the little tips Mr. Ferguson gave us that not only will be useful in hospitality but also in everydayn life. In host 150 i enjoyed the project that had to deal with the estimate of the costs of all linen supplies such as, bed sheets fitted and flat, bed spreads and a blanket,along with bath soap, shower gel and towels. i really like the project. It was a challenge but very helpful and useful to see how a housekeeper keeps her linen up to par. I appreciated that the assignments and lectures were relevant to real work situations. Mr.Ferguson is an excellent teacher to have, he motivates you and makes learning the course materials enjoyable. I like how we go to field trip and talk about all the hotel. The live teaching with course. I like and enjoy all the activities, projects, and assignments that we all being though. Every semester, I learn different experiences and listening stories from all of you. It is interesting class. i liked this class because he would give us extra time to do our assingnments and i learned alot in Host-150. Very well instructed. Had lots of fun projects. I really like this class because it would help me to better myself for this class if I get this learning job done. With if I get a job at a hotel or do this at my own home jobs. And help my friends at their homes,or my own home as well. I hope that I will do better in this course if I just hang in there and do my best. I like his teaching style......No quizzes but reading with a combination of assignments that provoked me to think about the answers....Not just treasure hunting in the book.... mr.ferg knows alot of things and is very wise. but i dislike the fact he is in hilo it makes learning less apeling for the lack of personabilty.and it was hard to yell over hilo at times i couldnt learn do to cross talk. I like all course work and activities, projects and assignments were all fare and I learned alot I liked the bookwork assignments. I thought that it was a very fun class and felt that i learned a lot about housekeeping.

14. Any suggestions to improve this course?

This course is really good. The instructor is very nice. What he was doing was good. his giving us examples that was relevant to our course. It is good. none none I think some carpet in the room would help the sound for the via conference. Because I loved the hands on activities so much I only wish we has a few more similar to it. No suggestions. More hands-on learning would help us tremendously. no. none I think the class now, it is good enough for me. n/a I do not really think that have to improve this course, I really think this course or any suggestions needs to be improve. I have leaned something from this course,so I really do not think of any more suggestions to improve this course.It is a good course to take and study if you like to take it and it help you if you like to take it. Proofing the assignments before opening them to students for accuracy.... switch it up come to kona like mr.lightner he goes back and forth to teach i know hilo feels this way when mr.lightner is on this side teacing them from elmo.... Nothing Mr. Ferguson was a great teacher he gave us tons of information that we will be able to use in the real world Instructor focusing more on students in Kailua-Kona to get them more motivated and involved in discussions,ect. I felt there was a distance learning barrier.

Mr. Ferguson usually made sure any students understand a chapter first before taking a test on it and moving on to another chapter. none Mr. Ferguson was very helpful and patient with all of us. I really liked him as my instructor. He made things very clear and understandable. As this is my first semester in US college system, everything done in and out of class has been new to me. All the things done in the class have been a little difficult to me, but they are very helpful for me to be on the right track. i like about this course is that doing our project about designing our own hotel. This course taught me how to manage one hotel. Mr. Ferguson is very clear and easy to understand. I like everything that we were doing in this course, especially when we go to the hotel, it really helpus a lot. I liked the fact that there was assignments that were easy to do. Liked how he gave us good feedback and relevent examples with any topic in the chapter and projects...made sure we understand any lectures he gave, he was very thourough and was very clear with his words. i learned about managing front office operations. I learned how to manage the front desk and how to communicate with other people.; I really like all the exercises that we did in the class, especially I like to go and visit different hotels. I feel I know more about it outside of class. I appreciated that the assignments and lectures were relevant to real work situations. I liked the teacher, Mr Ferguson. Although I really didn't understand some of the material covered in this course, the way that Mr Ferguson taught the class was very professional and efficient. He made it a comfortable place to learn. Mr Ferguson is an excellent teacher who knows what he's doing. He's the perfect person to teach this course. I enjoyed all the tips that can be used on an every day basis and ways to fix things within the rooms, with special techniques. Excellent teacher it was a joy to be in his class. I really enjoyed this course it was very helpful to me i learned a lot of things that i never knew I like the Project that was given to us, that we had to create our own hotel suite. I had trouble at first but i really enjoyed it while putting it together. It gave me ideas of how to make a guest happy with having all the accessories needed to please them but at the same time keep my room attendants happy by putting things in the room that is manageable to clean. I liked his teaching style......and the assignments and what not made me have to think...I liked that.......Also,his assignments and discussions had a f;are of personal expierience... i liked learing various housekeeping and front office skills. All course work and activities, projects and assignments were all done well

Don't change a thing. This course is really good. none none no. I like the way Mr. Freguson taught us now so I think just keep on it. More hands-on experience would benefit us greatly. none. There were times that the assignments didnt match the chapter work...So,my suggestion is to proof the assignments before opening them....because i like to keep up and I do pay attention so it kinda hinders me when that happens.... i would make sure the tests arnt in chapters not yet assined. Nothing mr. furgson was a great teacher

I truly enjoyed this course. I really learned a lot from this course, useful things that will really help me in life and in future references.Mr. Ferguson really seemed genuine and show that he cared a lot for all of his students, and I can verify this because when we had problems trying to register online for next semester, he was willing to help us start off by giving us ideas of important courses to take next semester spring and even gave us their crn #s too..he didnt't show us exactly everything but he was willing to help us start off like a regular counselor would do even though it was not required for him to do so,..and this showed he really does care and want to help us all pass our courses and be ready for next semester, and make sure we are registered and have no problems starting next spring courses..this kind of teachers are rare, so my thanks to Mr. Ferguson. this class made me learned so much, such as evaluating papers, how to run a business and how to run a good hotel in industry. I enjoy and happy to take the host classes. It is my last semester in Hilo, and for sure I did learn a lot from all of you. Mr.Ferguson is a kind gentleman and I enjoyed taking his course. I liked learning about the different laws that I never knew about. I liked learning about the law process with the hotel system. I like and enjoy to do all of them in the class. Mr. Ferguson always talk about his personal stories and experiences. I feel it's really fun and easy to remember the important points from the books. Very interesting material. The things were learned will be very useful in the real world. Before this class I was oblivious about law. After taking this course I think about things a little more thouraly. For example, makign sure parking is available without being towed by owners and such things like this. The assignments Learning how to keep your hotel out of court is very interesting and the assignments helped me to better understand that fact.. Nothing I think Mr. Ferguson did quite well. I think if I were teaching this course, I will do the same things as Mr.Frguson. I may also share my working experiences and also hard students' opinions. I would add real world cases for the students to practice in a court-like enviroment. To improve this course, I would have students create a situation and act out a skit. Have a stimulation of a situation. Maybe act out a case. Nothing, I like the way it is. To improve it I would play court scenarios in class and have students decide on how they would view the cases.I wouldn't change anything. 18. What do you think of the teacher and his/her teaching methods?

I think that Mr Ferguson teaching method was good for me because he reconized my different learning style and helped me to understand the material. I love them I think they were very effective. Hospitality Law is kind of hard to understand and remember each details in the book. However, the teacher always use "talking story" to describe the law from the book. I LIKE 'EM! Mr. Ferguson does a great job explaining the material and maing sure we understand. He lectures a lot and theres nothign wrong with that, but I think for this course it would be fun and beneficial to have more activity with the students and cases. Excellence! He is a magnificent teacher and by him exposing me to the knowledge of these classes is very satisfying. Mr. Ferguson is a great teacher. always prepared and knowledgeble about lessons we discuss in class They are interesting but good.

I liked making the student assessment project. I am learning what i want to do with my career and with my life. I enjoy learning about the hospitality industry and Mr. Ferguson does a graet job teaching it. What I like about this course is learning effective ways to be a supervisor. Mr. Ferguson was an excellent teacher! He is very knowledgeable and he always made us accountable to figure it out and allowed us to express ourselves and he was always clear and precise. He explained the course work well and was always there to help us when needed. I liked the way Mr. Ferguson thoroughly explains the assignments. I love the instructor he makes the learning experiance alot easier. Mr Ferguson always made the material new and exciting. He always presented his lectures in a very interesting manner, that is easy to understand and retain. I really enjoy all of his classes!! :) Mr. Ferguson gave us case studies to do and these helped to understand the principles of management. I liked that the course work was submitted over the internet, and not in class. It's easier to keep track of work online vs. in class... i like how mr. ferguson is an experienced person in this field. We didnt only get the book telling us whats going on we actually got real life stories and were able to discus them in class. i liked being able to learn more about the housekeeping department & how it runs. I really like the excursions and the project he assigns we learn from them and there also fun to do. I loved the Simulation class work. it helps us prepare for the upcoming years ahead. The DVD's provided in the class helped me to understand the basics in the housekeeping division and gave me not only a visual but also many ways videos can help the hearing impaired as well. Driving to Hilo to present a project. Mr Ferguson is a great instructor. I liked that this course was easy to understand. Mr.Ferguson really cares about the student's success and will make every effort to make sure students complete the course effectively.

14. Any suggestions to improve this course?

I think there should be more "hands on" for this class. NA Going way off subject makes class boring and feels like being there is a waste of our time. Going past class time isn't fair because we have short breaks. The class is being taught very well to where I am able to understand and so I don't feel any improvements are necessary. None it was a awesome course. We could have more hands on activities and maybe some guest speakers. I also feel we should try to stay on subject more. Post the assignments up earlier sometimes it was hard to keep up with assignments when they were posted last minute before the deadline. For online assignments, students like to do them right away if they have a busy weekend coming up and if assignments aren't posted until the weekend sometimes they will end up not getting done.

13. What did you like about this course, such as activities, projects, assignments, etc.?

I really liked that he covered more than what was asked for in this class. He gave us the opportunity to do hands on work, and I really like that! i loved the real stories that were told rather than just having book work. I like being able to learn more about the hotels & how they work. I really like the excursions and the project he assigns we learn from them and there also fun to do. I really enjoyed the "Create Your Own Hotel" project. It took a lot of planning to have a successful presentation, so all that I learned in this class was very valuable for me to have succeeded. The hotel project was fun and interesting. Meeting the Hilo class was cool. Vid con classes are a cool new age way of learning. I enjoyed hands on activities such a visits to hotels. The project we were assigned to design a hotel was good and allowed us to bring out our creativity, but it could have been explained better. The classes with Mr. Ferguson are awesome and well informed. Even though the review questions were time consuming, they helped me learned the course material very well. Because we were so interactive with both kona and hilo classes it was easy to enjoy our vidcon courses. There were many things I liked about this course. I enjoyed the teacher's teachimg methods, teacher, projects, field trips, and even the assignments. Though the work load was pretty frequent, (I ended up missing a few hah...) They were fair. I loved our hotel creation project the most. It was fun to be able to take all that we learned throughout the semester and apply it to something creative!

14. Any suggestions to improve this course?

It would be cool to have more "hands on", like hanging out at the front desk for awile to see how things are done. NA I believe more excursions to different lodging sites are really helpful to understand how hotels operate differently yet with the same criteria. None I think James should consider having students research Laulima on their own time because we spent a lot of time discussing it. I would like to have test reviews at a slower pace because it is really helpful when we review and it can be quite confusing when we go over the questions too fast. Projects could be better explained and I would like ot have our assignments have longer deadlines. No no One suggestion I have would be to make the assignment not due so early in the morning. Perhaps during lunch time? When I get home from work it is relatively late, and Laulima shuts down around 2:00 am, so I am unable to finish my work sometimes and cannot turn it in on time. That would be my only suggestion, other than that, I enjoyed this course!

I would try to make the course more exciting so more students would be more motivated to go to class. If I were teaching this class i would'nt be able to improve anything because this class is already well ran.I would'nt change anything class is perfect. nouthing this class is pretty chill its self If i were teaching this course, i will do more discuesses.Every student has different opinion and their own background. So, we can share about their feeling. Learn more communciation skills. If I were to teach this course, the one thing I would want to improve/change is motivation. When I come to class, I see that people are'nt that much motivated to do half of the things in class. I heard that some students didn't take the test nor did the assignment. I think the lectures in class needs to be more convincing. The only thing i would improve about this course is, rather have paper assignments, not online assignments. It gets too confusing and more time consuming. nothing I think the course was done very well. I would not change a thing. a. i would do something else besides just talking. b. i would tell the students clearly about the assignments.

I thought that he was very honest with us students. His teaching is good yet sometimes it gets boring. He seems very skilled in this industry and highly encouraged us to become interested in the hospitality field. His teaching method is learning from his many years of work experience in the hospitality industry The teach usually uses his personal experiences. I think those experiences are so important for me. Maybe some day I will have a same problem just like my teacher. However, I can learn and prepare before I have those different problems. I enjoy his teaching methods because i'm able to do my assignments at home and e-mail them to him. The teacher's teaching methods were just like most teachers methods. Lecture and text. I really like his teaching method because he explains situations real clearly and uses real life experiences that he encountered to teach us. i think hes ways of thinkin is vary good I think his teaching methods are very good. He shared his experience to us and we got a lot of chance to express our opinion. Also, we can discuess yo him after class or on Lnernet. I think the instructor methods are excellent, not fantastic. The instructor just needs to grab the students attention. I think the teacher, Jim Ferguson is a great teacher. Ive had him for a few semesters and hes always there for me. great I liked the teaching method. i think he was good at explaining things and giving examples to us. It would have been more beneficial to have more structured lectures.

Yes he has. Yes He has taught me a great amount of knowledge within this field by elaborating the importances of all the aspects of this hospitality industry. Yes... Educated me in where he started to get him to a hotel operation position I enjoy it and I never feel nervous during the class. Even sometimes I don't understand well the teacher still tried hard to help me. If I was teachiong this this course I would not change anything. Hopefully next years class will be able to actually to get hands on activities like cleanning a hotel room/bathroom. I would'nt change or improve anything the teacher was always prepared and explained subject really well. i would not change anything, the professor is very educated on the subject and he had a lot of experience in the field which made this class fun too. I wish we could do more hands on lectures and more field trips to see what other hotels have to offer I would change nothing..

I thought that this teacher was fair and honest. I think his methods are really well and planned out teaches subject very clearly. I think his teaching methods are great, he lectures us on real events and also makes us read the book. I really enjoy Mr. Fergusons class he is very easy to talk to and he is really open with the student who attend class which are like only three of us I like the way the teacher taught the class. Has a lot of knowledge from previous experience that were helpful in understanding the course.

Yes he has. Yes he got me to learn some really helpful info to help me in my future career at a hotel. He has contributed a great amount of general knowledge to me and I plan on using everything I learned from him on the job. Even though thhis course is dealing with hospitality i learned alot about how different hotels and what kind of jobs they can offer. yes very mutch. Yes, explained many of the materials from experience which gave the students to learn and understand to solving problems.

WELL THE BOOK FOR THIS COURSE WAS A LITTLE MORE ON THE LAW LANGUAGE SIDE....IT WAS SOMEWHAT A BARRIER BECAUSE IT WAS DIFFICULT FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND SOME OF THE TERMS OR LAW LANGUAGE. BUT, WHEN I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND, THE INSTRUCTOR WOULD ALWAYS CLARIFY IT WITH US. Nothing much I enjoyed this class while I was attending the class. The course has no flaws and needs no improvements or changes at this time. well i wouldnt change anything. The way how the class was thought its good, but should have activitys in the class to make the class fun. Laulima Format online and what should the students have in part of learning before coming to class. incorporate a special speaker,e.g.liability controller for one of the Islands Hotels. Otherwise I would not change a thing. I thought that it was great and I am not sure that there is a way to improve it I thought it was done very well.

The teacher is great at teaching and has a very unique way of explaining things to the students. He incorporates real life situations so that the students can better understand the course and what is needed for the workforce. really good, explained the work clearly, understandable, the way how the teacher present himself to the students is great. His methods are thorough and very understandable. Takes real life situations in and puts into the perspectives for the student to learn from in order to work in the real world. I appreciate an Instructor who incorporates their vast work experiences with the course material. I think that he was a wonderful teacher I really liked all his personal experience in the field that greatly improved my experience of the class.

yes Agreat deal being in this hospitality class allowed me to understand more about the hotel industry.and how to deal with customer service. YES! I HAVE ENCOUNTERED SEVERAL INSTANCES THAT IF I HADN'T TAKEN THIS COURSE I WOULD KNOW NOTHING ABOUT, BUT BECAUSE I HAVE TAKEN THIS COURSE I WAS ABLE TO HAVE THAT KNOWLEDGE AND UTILIZE IT. Sure he always like to share my general knowledge to other students. The teacher has given all of us a better understanding and a lot of learning job skills. yes i have gain knowledge and the information that was provide to me was really good, i have learned skills and probably will use it in the hotel industry. Nothing MORE HANDS ON EXPERIENCE WOULD BE HELPFUL AS WELL AS FIELD TRIPS *I wouldnt change anything.Jim taught the class well and communicated with the students outside of class tim effectively. There should be no improvements to the class, everything was taught well and presented in a good manor. There is nothing that needs to be changed. it should stay the same but needs activitys to make the class fun. Laulima format and what materials do the student need to have prior to the class starting at the beginning of the semster.

hes a ggreat guy and an awesome teacher IT'S PRETTY GOOD....I LEARNED ALOT *Excellent. He is a very knowledgeable instructor. He always comes to every class prepared and ready to teach. There is nothing to improvement at this time. No changes are needed. Laulima format and what materials should the students have prior to coming into the class at the beginning of the semster. a) I would incorporate study guides for each chapter, highlighting significant subject matter. I would then develop my questions the chapter test from the study guide work sheets. b) I would change the start of the review period for tests to after the close of the testing period. Therefore maintaining fairness to all students, and bolstering the creditability of the course in the academia studies.

I agree with his teachs style. He is a great guy and has excelled in his teaching methods since I've known him. explainable, the communication was great. *Excellent. nothing. just the lualima website needs a little fixing. everything else is wonderful The only thing i would change about this course is the whole Laulima thing. If it is going to be used, then to extend deadlines for work because not everybody outside their school life has opportunities to use a computer. I think doing the work on paper is just fine, if not more effiecent and prompt for getting the work done. Also, more helpful to students because it's hands on. let the process be the same. i wouldnt change or improve much. This was a basic course i felt like it met all its standards. In the beginning of the semester the workload was too much. There were always more things posted; that made it difficult to complete in a timely manner. There shouldn't be so much assignments due around the same date. It should be no more than 1 assignment per class due at the same date; especially when the assignment questions are very detailed. When 2 or more assignments are due around the same date, it's too stressful to create a concise answer & submit on time. Discussions over Laulima should not be required if we are attending classes each day. It is already enough to attend regular classes and complete assignments at a given date. I don't think discussion on Laulima should be required; unless, we don't meet in class on a regular basis. I would not improve anything. Nothing. Nothing it was great/ I would improve the environment where we would be attending class and how we interact with the instructor and other students in the class. I would change the text we learn from to where we learn directly from the standards of the hawaii hotel and tourism association. I would plan an outline of the course so that the students can better understand what goals need to be met and also I would have liked to have lesson plans instead of lectures. excellent=] the teachers methods are super!!! i have gained a lot of knowledge and skills through him.. I think the teacher is excellent! I strongly recommened Jim Ferguston because he not only knows what hes talking about from the books, but his own experience as well. Also, his personality and sence of humor brings smiles to the classroom. Jim Ferguson in my opinion a very knowledge instructor that i would definally recommend. very useful, good critical thinking and understanding, great confindence bout what hes doing, and does a great job. he teaches great. Good methods I liked how he reviewed each new chapter. He also used good examples from his past experience to relate to what we were learning. He also made sure everyone was caught up with assignments and he is very accomodating. The teacher was awesome. His methods are great. Great very informative The teaching methods of the instructor are accurate and are based upon the instructors years in the hotel industry and what experience has he taught to others while in the industry. Its mostly lectures and I find my mind wandering away from the lesson, maybe if we had more classroom participation it would be better I think it was good. He put real life situations within his teaching methods which made it very clear and more realistic. I definetly will be able to remember his lessons and carry them on throughout my working carreer. I liked the instructor's methods of instruction. The instructor's personality is very likeble.

excellent=] yes Yes Jim Ferguson has comtributed to my general knowledge. Tbe things i've learned in his class helps in everyday life situations! Im hoping to use this as a second major, learning different skills. yes Yes it has but i dont think i'll be in this deoartment of the hotel however i would be able to run the position if i was choosen for the job. Yes, he encourages us to learn concepts that can be applied in the work place. He also offers to help students seek job opportunities and prepare for the future. Yes he has. Yes it sure did He has contributed to my general knowledge, to which had improve my knowledge about the hospitality industry and understanding what goes on through out the industry and how the state of the economy effects the tourism numbers. everything was well prepared=] There shouldn't be a very big workload like there was in the beginning of the semester. There shouldn't be more than one assignment (especially if it is very detailed) due at the same date. nothing I wouldnt change anything about this course, Mr Ferguson has explained and taught this course very well and ive learned an extreme amount from him. Nothing this course was the hardest for me because i never worked on the front desk so i feel i gained alot of knowledge from this course. Just the laulima website is all. some odds and ends need fixing, but other than that everything is great I would not improve anything. Nothing. Nothing at all was a great semester Just improve the standards we learn by and change the environment we learn in and places where the distant learning could be learned from. Nothing, I think my instructor did an excellent job at teaching me what I needed to know . Everything was understandable and clearly understood. I would reduce the lectures and stay away from straying off the subject, also, I would clearly say when the tests are going to be given, also, I would have let the other class participate more, as we do video conferences and the instructor focuses mainly on his side of the classroom. He preceded with great techniques and methods of theaching and was very talkative and filled with information. I think that the intructor did a great job!!!! His methods of teaching has taught me new skills and i've learned more knowledge than ever. The teacher is awesome. His methods are great. Awesome very well educated Methods that he teaches by are understandable and very helpful to where you are able to improve the skills that you know about the hospitality and how understand what goes on in a stressful situation. I think it was good. He put real life situations within his teaching methods which made it very clear and more realistic. I definetly will be able to remember his lessons and carry them on throughout my working carreer. I liked that he provided an extra credit project and that it was easy to follow the guidelines for and gave an extensive amount of time to complete it. I liked the instuctor and his teacing methods.

nothing would change. The laulima website. N/A I wouldnt change anything about this course. nothing I would change only some of the material cause some of the work was very repeatative and common-sense questions and I felt there were other more important things icould learn but I guess some people need the extra work to gain experience but for someone with experience in a hotel, the work didnt meet my expectations. However I look forward to next semester. I would not improve anything. Nothing. I would'nt change anything at all Improve the standards that we learn from and would change the environment that we work in and that we could do an internship at a hotel and do distant learning from the work conference room during each class. Nothing, I think my instructor did an excellent job at teaching me what I needed to know . Everything was understandable and clearly understood. I would have mixed up the teaching ways a little, and not have just lectures all the time, also, I would have had more of a hands on what would you do in this situation approach. Nothing.

Mr. f is to the point and doesn't beat around the bush...I respect that..I wouldn't want him to waste my time. Mr. "F" is the bomb, he is acompassionate teacher and well spoken. He kept our classes very stimulating. I enjoy all his classes. I look forward to my second year with him. I enjoyed having Jim as a teacher. I enjoy his teaching methods because we are given real life situations

Mr. F is always concerned about how we are retaining the tools that he is teaching to us...I think it is because he's been with us for the past two semesters and we have all become very close, like family Mr. Ferguson always has our best interest in mind. He showed concern for his students well being and work.

51. What did you find most valuable and helpful about the instructor?

Because Mr. F has all the experience, he is very valuable to me in the sense that he has been there and done that. That hes very approachable and personable He was open to any of our questions or suggestions.

I honestly wouldn't change this class at all. Maybe just the time difference but overall I think the class is okay. Nothing wouldne't change a thing nothing! its very simple but even though its simple you earn a lot from it! Don't need to improve or change anything Mr.Ferguson was very informative and gave us real life situation to assess and find a soulution for. By doing this he gave us a feel of what it would be like in the work force. He also shared his experiences with us to better understand how things functio Try to think of different strategies of managing business. Come out to Kona at least once a month instead of teaching only from HILO. NO WEB CT WE NEED ONE ON ONE

20. What do you think of the teacher and his/her teaching methods?

I think that the teacher really does know his subject really well. He's had many stories to talk about in the field that the students were taking up and as for his teaching methods, it was good and understandable. I enjoyed his teaching methods knows his stuff. very good! i enjoyed it very much! He's great-he knows what he's talking about He teaching methods were awesome and I would really recommend this class to anyone looking to pursue any type of career. He knows the business feild well and it shows in this teaching methods. I think his methods were good and interesting I will try to use those methods in the future. Okay VERY GOOD TEACHING

He has and I've also learned a lot this semester about a lot of things. yes yeah yes he did! What I learn from Mr. F, I try to apply it to my work. Yes very much so. I feel much more confident going out into the work force now that I've taken this class. Yes Yes YES
