20. Other comments:
I applaud Manong Abe for pulling us through this semester even though our beginning was rough (without syllabus and sudden change of instructor). His assignments were very helpful to my learning experience about the Ilocano culture and he is consistent with our schedule. He never fails to listen to our comments and suggestion. I would also like to thank him for always reminding us every week through email on what we expect to do in class. Thank you Manong Abe.
Taking this class was a good experience. It helped me to be more in touch with my culture. Manong Abe did really well in assisting us with our assignments and we knew what was expected to be done in class.
The class is hard in that, as with all other language classes, the students have varying levels of knowledge pertaining the language already. Some students know more about grammar and sentence structure but lack vocabulary and other students do not know much of grammar and structure but have an abundance in vocabulary. I think this should be addressed more directly rather than just readings. I would suggest vocabulary lessons and some refresher grammar and structure lessons. Vocabulary is necessary for language students as different words carry different connotations.
