13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
knowledge of material
He knows the material extremely well and forces you to think for yourself before giving you the answers.
Knew the material very well
He went beyond the course material to teach us more from what he has experienced.
His major strengths are a vast knowlage as well as a passion for ems. He took the time to explain things to me in terms I could understand and then helped me to apply said knowlage.
Dave has a very extensive knowledge base and an aptitude for the skills required to be a good EMT/Paramedic.

He knows the information being presented very well. He has the ability to gauge his students and adapt to their level of understanding and educate them from that standpoint and build up each student individually.
Very knowledgeable on the subject. It was taught at a fast pace but he gave us a lot of different ways to obtain the knowledge.

be clearer on instructions
Maybe study guides for tests.
if possible extend the course so it is not as crammed.
syllabus and study materials specific to tests and assignments
class could have been more straight forward and directed so we could nail some points early instead of having to go back and review because we didn't retain some of the info that we went over due to a scattered type of studying

stayed after class and helped students who needed help
He organized study sessions for students who were struggling.
he helped students out of class
Dave showed exceptioonal concern by printing me extra study packets on my request so I could stay fresh over the weekend. He would also show up early and stay late to work with anyone who wanted to come in.

i think he genuinely wants the best from his students
David worked really hard and put in more time than he needed to help us get through this very tough course. David worked through lunches and also met up with us after class on his own time
He worked personally with each of us
He constantly monitored the class as a whole to make sure that each student had grasped the information being presented. If needed he took time to break down the information so that this was the case. If a student did not do well on a certain subject he would work with the student individually and provide additional resources for that student to stay on the same page as the rest of the class.
He said if any of us fail then he failed, which showed that he was gonna do all that he could to prevent that from happening. Putting in extra time after work, study sessions, and one on one couseling.

David Mendonsa went out of his way to help any student who asked and or needed.
He went above and beyond to make sure the students who learned a little slower than the others were keeping up. He stayed late and showed up at group study sessions willing to teach.

Yes because he teaches you not only the didactic portion of the class but also teaches you how to be road savvy.

i would recommend him for a more advanced student with previous knowledge in the field but not for students with no basis in ems.

Thanks for pushing us and teaching us more than just the basics.
lots of knowledge, just not enough time to soak up everything he has to offer because length of course.
I would like to say that I took this program previous in Arizona several years ago and the level of training I received from Dave was hands down better and exponentialy more benificial to EMS.
He put in extra time after class hours to help students in need

I learned more than i thought i did based on a 6 month course.
I feel his preparation for what was to come for us was great. He was hard on us at times because he knew our preceptors would be.

As I stated before his knowlage and passion for ems is unparalleled.
His knowledge on the subject goes beyond what he is teaching. He changed things up every day to keep us on our toes. In this line of work, that's exactly how it will be.

He offered to stay late after class and came in early to help practice skills and go over material. He also set up study sessions for students who were struggling in class.
He took time to help students after class.
Dave came early and stayed late on a regular basis. He also would give up his lunch time to work through something with us on a reg basis.
He put himself in our shoes and related to us in ways other instructors probably wouldn't have been able to, which help me learn

He tries to make scenarios in the classroom setting just like the real thing so the students can learn to apply their skills in different situations.
The course was taught at a fast pace and he did a good job of making sure that people understood the material. Nobody failed and we all pulled through. Well taught!
