Being able to see how the children changed so much during the short time I was there. also if I had problems of some sort, Elaine or Alex were always there to help solve my problems or help me figure out how to work things out. |

| More "hands" on with children would be better to be able to apply what we learn in theory. This is covered more in other classes, I believe. I also did not feel that all 4 required books were helpful. The 2 main ones would have been enough. The information was redundant instead of insightful.
Also, our group discussion time was excessively lng usually. We would have our discussion and be ready to present in a few minutes, usually less than 5, but would be given 15-20 mins. We ended up doing other things during this time. |

| Learning new things about children that I didn't know. How to listen, talk, or create play for them. |
| All it teaches developmental appropriate practices for the child as a whole. And the class is there not to tell you, you're wrong but to see what you know and to be able to attain more knowledge. |
| I liked the diversity of teaching techniques. We watched DVD's, read children's books, had group discussions, did appropriate activity planning and homework, and participated in class group work.
I learned a lot by hands-on activities, such as the Service Project, and the homework that involved interacting with children. It was easier to apply our knowledge and skills in concrete ways (and also more realistically) then when they were just ideas talked about in class. I learned a lot of new ideas and approaches that I have already begun to use with my 18 month old daughter. This class had valuable information and children will be blessed to be taught by teachers learning these philosophies and approaches. |
