13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
shes goes step by step with her teachings
The class is organized very well. Mrs. Makishima gives us hand-outs on a daily basis. So many, in fact, that I have rarely used my textbook and have only studied her hand-outs. A lesson is prepared every day in correspondence with the chapters in our book. Everything progresses at a steady pace and never seems too hard.
She is very kind and supportive
Makes the class a very fun environment.
great teacher major strengths teaching Japaneses
She taught things in a simple and easy way for every to understand.
She is incredibly organized -- probably one of the most organized classes I've ever had. As a busy student taking lots of other courses and managing extra curricular activities, I really appreciate when teachers organize their class in a way that allows me to plan ahead. She gives a bi-weekly schedule and sticks to it. I know what to expect every day and there are no surprises.
She is able to create a lesson plan and sticks to the lesson plan. She is able to break down what is being taught into something that is understandable
She is very organized in her lesson plans, especially for a language course which is crucial.
She tries to cover everything in the time she has and makes things repetitive. In language repetitive is key.
Very, very organized. Each lesson plan is detailed from day to day. Also very friendly to students and willing to help out any struggling individuals.
Her knowledge about her subject, especially knowing the cultures way of how to speak Japanese. Knowing techniques how a foreign student should know how to understand Japanese.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
none
We often wouldn't have enough time to complete each classroom activity. It sometimes got frustrating quickly moving from one to another.
none
Stop giving so many mini quizzes. They all really did not help my learning.
less quizzes
None
There are a lot of paper hand outs in the class -- I'd say that 75% of the handouts are very useful and vital information but sometimes we get handouts that I think are not necessary to have on paper. I don't mind getting them -- the only thing I am concerned about is paper waste. I think it would be more beneficial if she suggested the use of checking and obtaining certain information through laulima, since she already gives access to a lot of the information and material there anyway. I also understand that in a language course, class participation and interaction is helpful to learning... but personally I didn't enjoy being forced to interact with my classmates. I don't mind partner work, as long as I am able to choose my own partner but sometimes we were forced to find a new partner, someone that we most likely did not know. Interpersonal skills are important, I understand that doing this was in our best interest, but it was not something that I enjoyed so much. That's just how I felt (and how a couple of my classmates felt after talking to them about it) about class interaction.

Nothing, she is perfect.
Nothing really.
No changes are needed. I think Yoko sensee is a great instructor.

When ever she would say a Japanese phrase or word during a lecture I would like to hear the English translated word.Because I think the word or phrase would stick into my mind better than trying to figure out what the word means. Then I would forget to look up the word.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
Mrs. Makishima is always letting students know if they have not turned in or failed to complete a quiz or exam. She always wants her students to complete all their work so they have the best possible chance of succeeding in her class.
She would talk to them about their missed quizzes and make-up reviews or she'll make a time to reschedule something if they had work
Always reminding students about test coming up and helped students in their own hard struggles related to the class
gave extra help
Ask the students if they needed to retake a test and suggest ways to help catch up students.
She made she that we understood the material and was happy to answer any question if we had any. she also regularly emailed the students and suggested options (such as tutoring) to help us if we had trouble grasping a concept.
She is readily available right after class for assistance. She responds to email in a quick manner.
She always made students understand before they moved onto the next section of a lesson.
She is a very kind person and will treat you kindly. If you had to makeup an quiz /hw / test because of being sick or whatever she made sure she met with you.
She was very flexible when I had to miss class because of my job so she would accommodate me with taking quizzes and test early.
Makes every student individually answer questions and examples to make sure that everyone understands the material. Alerted students when they were weak in certain areas of the subject.
She would personally go up to the student to ask how they are during a danger point in their grades or in any concerns. She would allow access to her help or tutors if the students shows struggling.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
yes i would, her assignments could be difficult but shes goes step by step and it becomes easy to do.
Yes! She is very organized and understands her subject matter extremely well. She is able to explain concepts clearly and even goes out of her way to show us a bit about Japanese culture.
Yes. She is very patient and kind
Yes because she is a very easy going teacher always open to questions and suggestions.
yes good teacher
Yes, because she makes things easier to understand and she is so nice.
Yes, definitely. She is so organized, knowledgeable and accessible. We get our grades and feedback very quickly so I am never left wondering where exactly I stand in class. Learning any new language requires a lot of time and dedication from the student -- if the student is willing to do this, they can very much appreciate someone who has their education in their best interest. If they do the work, they will not only get a good grade, but they will gain a solid foundation in learning a new language.
Yes very much, she specializes in what she teaches and strives to make sure everyone understands before moving on.
Yes, you learn the most important foundations of the Japanese language from her. I can confidently ask out Japanese girls in their language.
Yes. She is a great teacher. The class is interesting and enjoyable.
I would absolutely recommend her to other students.
Yes, very kind professor and incredibly encouraging. Definitely wishes for her students' success in learning the Japanese language. Also incredibly organized and follows routine/schedule very well.
I would because she is a nice, kind, patient (very important when it comes to foreigner trying to learn a different language), humorous, and flexible to understand a situation with a student.

She is also a very positive and consistent person. I don't recall a single class where I have felt bored because of the way she was teaching.
She is the best teacher ever. I am enrolling in her second class.
" same as above"
Thank you for a great semester!
Her patience with me and other students is something to admire. Her hard work and promptness is another model to admire.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
She is very patient and knowledgeable. She takes times to make sure each student understands what is being taught.
She is one of the most organize teachers i had in my life. she provides a bi weekly schedule that tells what assignments are due, and she also provides a study guide that tells EVERYTHING that is going to be covered on the test and section.
She knows the material and is clear on what she wants us to learn.
Very organized. Great teacher!
Her teaching style and her knowledge of the subject.
She is willing to give the benefit of the doubt to all of her students. When you miss a homework assignment, you are still encouraged to turn it in for half credit. And for quizzes, you do need to have some play in your schedule in order to make it up but she's very good about trying to coup with your schedule and she doesn't really have to go through the trouble. I admire her drive and motivation in pushing the class to do well and to make sure that we learn the material effectively so we can use that knowledge for the next level or future use.
Teaching us Japanese with great examples.
She knew the subject very well and had the most interesting ways of helping the class to remember things.
Sensei Makashima really knows what she's teaching. She's very kind and always willing to help.
Yoko Makashima-Young is very helpful and approachable regarding any questions or concerns on any of the assignments and tests. She also made the class feel enjoyable by setting up a friendly atmosphere from the beginning of the semester.
She cares for her students. Is a fun teacher.
Helps student when they need help and also teach by following the exact chapters that are needed to be followed.
She does her best to think of ways to make it easy for us to memorize new words or sentence structures. She's easy to talk to, and she encourages students to do their best.
A lot of patience for a teacher trying to teach someone that does not know even the basics of the language. A very qualified teacher in making Japanese interesting!
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
None.
shes pretty fast so it'll be hard for people not familiar to japanese
None
i have nothing that i can add to her method of teaching. it seems to be a great and effective way to get students to learn the language while having some fun doing so.
Nothing.
None.
I would suggest maybe assigning students a small project or group presentation, utilizing all the grammar and vocab learned in class.
I do not have any suggestions to make to this teacher because it is a very good class and teacher as it is. :)
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
She was easily reached by email or during office hours. If anyone had questions, she would tutor them
she also you to make up all your work and test and she provides help when asked.
She always let students retake quizzes and made things convenient for everyone.
She is always available to her students.
She would keep us up to date with our grades. If we were missing any assignments or quiz/test she would let us know and let us make it up.
when you missed an assignment she would write it on the returned work to let you know that you've missed it and occasionally reminded the class that we can still turn it in late for half credit. like i said earlier, she would try to work with the schedule you had (but you had to also work within her time frame as well).
She would email us and tell us during class if we have missed something or done something wrong in a homework or a test/quiz.
She would ask why we were not in class or help us if we needed extra help.
She shows concern by e-mailing us and writing us comments if we need to see her because she can tell when someone is struggling.
She would always genuinely ask if there were any concerns or questions and is very generous with every little details and explanations.
Worked with them after class
She would help students right after class when they are in need of help.
She gives office hours right after the class is over and helps us in fun ways to understand the Japanese language. She also does class participation to help us understand more about the language/culture.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Yes, because she makes learning easy and fun.
yes, if you want to learn japanese in a quick and timely fashion that complete organized, then yes i highly suggest Makishima sensei
Yes! Very good teacher. She takes time with her students.
yes, i would recommend her to other students. she claims that the class would be going quickly through the material but if you just follow her scheduled syllabus for every week, then you don't have any problem trying to keep up with the class and being lost because you didn't do this or that assignment. everyone has their personal preference and some people may disagree and say that so and so is a better more effective teacher. any way you look at it, I don't think you can really grasp and or enjoy learning something if there isn't some fun added to the lesson. repetition also plays a key role in grasping it well.
Yes I would recommend her to students because she is a very good teacher to have for a level one Japanese class.
Absolutly!!!! She's amazing and fun!! she makes the class participate and has a great learning atmosphere. I had fun in class!
I would recommend her to other students because she's a good teacher and really helpful.
Absolutely! I thought it was fun having her as a teacher. The class was set up in a friendly environment and it brought all her students in a peaceful atmosphere where she made learning beginner's Japanese very fun and enjoyable. Although learning another language was difficult, she provides all the help and resources that you will need.
Yes
Yes i would recommend Yoko to students because she teaches all the basics and not expect you to know everything in just one week.
She's a good teacher, and she's very understanding. If she notices that you're having trouble, she'll go over the subject until you understand.
I would definitely recommend this teacher to other students because if they do not know the language well, I'm certain they would certainly learn a lot from this teacher like I did. :)
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
She is a very patient and honest person.
wish that she was also teaching the upper levels of Japanese classes because i would definitely take her class again in the upper levels. but in all fairness, other people should be able to experience what she can offer to her students.
She is a very helpful teacher when you need help in something.
She really makes you want to come to class everyday. She has a great teaching technique. she makes it easier for you to learn a second language! I wish she was teaching 102!
She's an awesome teacher!
I do sincerely wish that she is able to teach Japanese 102.
18. Other comments:
great class! :D thank you Makishima Sensei ;)
I had a great time in the class, you have developed an enjoyable and friendly environment to learn in.
Please keep on teaching the way you too! I shall miss the way you taught the class in those fun/funny ways! :)

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
The Japanese language is hard to learn for some students in my class Makishima Sensei has made it easier for my class to learn it. Her methods of teaching are very clear and understandable.
She really wants her students to pass and she's always reminding us to study
She new a lot about the language and was very well prepared each class. She treated each student fairly. very uderstanding.
She had very good knowledge of the subject and kne how to keep the class engaged and up beat.
She has many quiz to give us ( almost everyday )
She taught the class very well and I learned a lot.
She knows the language beforehand and is fluent in what she teaches allowing for a much more natural learning.
Sensei Makishima-Young is a great teacher. Her interactive, in-class activities are very helpful and she is a very caring teacher. If you need help, she has no problem being there to help you.
Her experience with the subject.
Her extensive knowledge in her subject.
-knowledge in subject -organized
She's very well organized, she gives a lot of mini quizzes to frequently test the students' knowledge on the material, and she really encourages class participation.
She knows the course matter.
Very energetic everyday even though the class is bored or sleepy Every class day is a review day so materials are easy to memorized.
Her knowledge in her subject and her teaching style.
Knowledgeable in Japanese. Lot's of group activities.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
None
maybe extra credit?
no.
I wouldn't want to change anything.
None
i think the course goes by pretty fast, but i think it's because sensei just wants us to be prepared to move on to the next course and have us learn as much as we can.
I suggest she speaks much more clearer.
offer the evenings class 4 times a week just like the morning.Only offering 2 days a week is to hard for most student to properly learn a second langue.
N/A
I would suggest Yoko Makishima- Young should learn to speak more clear english, that way it is easier for students to understand the directions being given out.
She should incorporate more group pairings during class so students can work together with different people and help each other out.
She teaches the course as if you already know the material, not as if you are a first time student of Japanese. She also does not take into account age of students and how older students can not effectively learn as quickly as younger students do. This course, I felt was for high school students who already new Japanese.
none

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
She asked for students to see them after class or take their missed quizzes for the credit.
She would tell us to come and see her if we weren't doing good and tells us what we need to do to pass
Yes she did show concern. When I got sick she helped me outside of class to try and get through the course.
When a student would miss a class she would ask if they are okay and if they have a note. She also allows them to make up quizzes and always tries to meet with students that might fail the class.
She practices with every student.
We could always email her or see her after class if we have any questions or if we needed help on a certain topic.
She writes on tests to come see her for tests and always asks for homework when not turned in.
She is very caring, speaking personally she was very understanding when i was going through a rough time in my life. She was very nice and was always available to help me. Making sure that i still tried my best and studied even though she knew it was hard for me at the time, but she believed in me.
She will take time from her schedule to help her students with anything.
By keeping us inform of our grades, and making sure we clearly understand the assignment.
Always allowed for room to improve.
She really tried to help students who were falling behind in class by letting them take quizzes they have missed outside of class and accepting late assignments. She also informed students of what their current grade was and if it was still possible to be able to still bring their grade up.
She posts every notes, lessons and homework with answers on laulima as a tool for review. Really emphasize lessons that most students are confused with
emailed and offered retakes for some missed quizzes
Notified me when I forgot to turn in homework, etc.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
YES! She is a fantastic teacher and I enjoyed her class, except for the time (8:00-8:55) Jokes. If you want to learn the basics of Japanese, she would be the ideal choice...
Yea, I would she's a good teacher and Japanese is very hard
Yes, I would recommend Makashima Sensei to other students because I think she was one of the best language teachers Ive ever had. She knew a lot about Japanese language and she was always helpful and very understanding.
Yes, because she's a fun teacher and knows the material. Her class is never boring and it's a lot of fun.
Yes, because after taking her course I can speak and write Japanese now.
Yes, because her teaching skills really help me get the vocabulary and sentence structures stuck in my head for a very long time which is a good thing.
Yes. And I have. She's a wonderful teacher and very wonderful.
Yes, she's very intelligent and caring. They will learn a lot.
Yes I would because she knows the subject very well.
Yes, but I wont recommend anyone to take the evening classes. I would be sure to tell them to take the morning classes.
Yes because her teaching is very straight forward and organized and she try as much as possible to make us speak Japanese not just write it.
No I would not recommend Yoko Makishima- Young. Her directions are difficult to understand because of her fluency in Japanese.
I would recommend her to students who have already had some experience in Japanese or are fast- learners. Her class is very fast-paced so knowing at least some Japanese would be very helpful in passing this class.
No I would not. She does not terach in a manner that will help you to learn. The pace is way too fast. She would show you the characters and expect you to learn them in one minute, using a timer.
Yes, I would because she teaches well. For example.I learned katakana quickly compare to the time when I was learning it in high school.
yes because although she teaches a little fast, if you stick with it you will learn fast.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
I took Japanese in high school for three years, but I didn't really get all of it, but Makishima Sensei shed some light on those things and made it clear and easy to understand. Thank you!
I liked that she kept track of how the class as a whole was doing on homework and if she saw a widespread problem in completing the assignment correctly she would make a point to go over it in class to help everyone get it correct.
I wonder when she runs out of quiz. Just kidding, I love it.
She is very kind and sometimes the class is very funny when it comes to making up sentences.
She's too adorable.
Very nice & caring teacher.
She's a great teacher
Yoko Makishima- Young also exaggerated her teachings skill in Japanese.
I would just like to say that she is an excellent teacher and I hope to have more teachers like her in the future.
Her English is cute because of her accent.
Yes, her class is very engaging.

I wish there was some extra credit opportunities
I would like to say thanks to Professor Yoko Makishima for what she has taught me. Arigato gozaimasu Sensei.
I would definitely take her class again for Japanese 102.
None
knows her subject very well.
offer more classes during the evenings, because just offereing Japanses twice a week his hard for a student to learn.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
Her lesson plan and how she teaches. I took another Japanese class where our teacher had just given us the page in the book and left us to study. Makashima-Sensei was clear and concise about what she wanted us to learn, gave us some time to come up with phrases and sentences and then would encourage each student to speak out loud. She treated it like almost a game and it made learning fun and interesting.
She is a very kind and nice teacher. Also, she is very good at teaching.
She was a great teacher in general. She has a sense of humor. She allows students freedom for expression. She is concise and clear on what she wants in the class. She is understanding when you are unable to make it to class.
Enthusiasm, she is a very lively person and makes the atmosphere in the class excellent. Our class loved her as a teacher Her energy makes the class exciting rather than the typical Japanese classes i've taken before where it's just all bookwork
Her concern for the student. She wants her students to learn.
She is very clear when teaching the lessons. Although at times it seems fast pace but she teaches in a way that the information can quickly be absorbed.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Maybe give the students a little more time to come up with sentences.
none.
Don't change at all. You are one of my favorite teachers.
None other than let her teach my 102 class
None!
Nothing!
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
She was always available to talk to us, before and after class, if she can't talk to a student she's worried about she will ask others. One classmate I was working with more or less disappeared. She noticed I worked with the student often and she asked me about my classmate. Another student disappeared in the middle of the semester and she asked other students about them as well.
Yes, she was always available after class and in her office to help students.
always asking if your okay. Sending students emails and checking up on them when they are missing. Allowing students to meet with her and catch up
Met with me before class and she also helped other students I saw then in her office while I was there.
She would correct us when needing correction. If we needed extra help she was more than willing to provide it.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Absolutely, I had been trying to teach myself some Japanese and she taught me in a day what took me months to get down on my own and badly. She is a very effective instructor.
yes, she uses repitition so its easier to learn. as long as you keep practicing, the class is really easy and fun.
Yes, because she makes learning Japanese enjoyable and interesting.
Of course I would recommend her. She is an awesome teacher and makes learning Japanese ã??ã?®ã??ã?? not ã?¤ã?¾ã??ã?ªã??.
yes such a great teacher. However since she is only a 101 teacher it may give false hope that japanese is actually an easy class. and when you step into the next class like 102 and realize wow this is hard. it'll be a big change that many might not be able to handle easily
Yes! Because she is well organized and wants her students to learn.
Yes I most certainly would. She's an excellent teacher. By the end of the semester all of the content for that class will be covered and it will all be stuck in your head!
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
She should be given the opportunity to have first choice in classes to teach because I would really like to work with her in Japanese 102.
She is a very patient and kind teacher.
Excellent teacher.
Thank you. I may not have done well but I did learn.
Nothing else.
18. Other comments:
Thank you for a great semester!.
I'm very concerned about having to re-take this class. I don't learn as fast as others and I try very hard. Why is it that this class is not 5 days a week? I noticed that some students already knew the language. Maybe having the class 5 days a week will discourage them from signing up for the 101 class. Well, maybe just 1 morning and 1 late afternoon class should 5 days a week. It would help those, like me, who have a difficult time learning a foreign language.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
She really helps throughout my time in her class. Fun and loose, but also learning everything we need in Japanese 102
Very enthusiastic, patient, easy-going and organized. Lesson plans are very thought out and easy to follow.
Is willing to tutor in her office and help out as much as needed so student understands the material
Major strengths is making the studet feel very comfotable in leanring a new language. Very patient and will make sure you understand the lesson that day.
Very encouraging and understanding. Fair in teaching and grading. Made it fun and exciting to come to class. Even if I didn't do well I always wanted to come to class.
She knows her material very well because she was grown up with this language as her first language. She always has a positive attitude in class. Her class is very fun and entertaining.
very interactive with the class and a cheerful person.
I will say this try put in an effort in doing you homework, quizzes, show up for class, participate in it. And you do well even if you get it all wrong.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
Nothing, everything is great, the methods and the quizzes everyday helped me remember and hopefully throughout my life.
No changes!
find out a new way to get all the material learned without quiz's everyday
Maybe a little less homework.
Split the current work load into two different 102 classes so that we can focus more on either grammar or kanji. Having to focus on mastering both in one class is very difficult.
I think this class is good as is.
a little more time to come up with sentences and looking over vocabulary would be nice.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
She would let us know that we didn't do our hw and gives us some chances on doing our quizzes or tests if we were unable to do them on certain days despite the percentage deductions.
Always made herself available to help if a student needed help. She wants all of her students to succeed.
Had office hours every day
She encourage class participation to improve grades. She also threw in extra credit on chapter exams
She is always asking if we're doing ok. She encourages us to stay current with the daily homework. Most important, she always gives us feed back on our mini quizes, oral tests, and chapter tests. Her feedback includes but is not limited to things we need to work on, how we can imporve our written/spoken skills, and new cultural information we may find interesting.
She involved students everyday. She changed partners for class everyday so everyone gets to know each other better. She is always free to help students when needed.
yes because she is always available when students need her. she helps us practice for tests during her office hours.
Encourage participation, lenient for those who having a hard time trying to learn the material
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
Letting students know why you will be giving quizzes everyday and how it will affect our life throughout
YES DEFINITELY I already have!
Yes! Great teacher and a great mixture of hard work and fun.
Yes, very much so. In fact, I wish I could take 200 courses from her instead of continuing Nihongo with another sensei. Sensei is aware of the different learning styles out there. Some students learn best by seeing, hearing, or doing. Sensei's class's are structured in such a way that each learning style is not only addressed but enhanced. she is a great and caring teacher who goes beyond the call of duty to help her students.
Yes, after hearing how other teachers are, I think that she would be the best Japanese 101 and 102 class. Her grading is also very lenient.
yes, because she is a very encouraging teacher and is a very happy cheerful person. easy to get along with and is very patient. however long it takes she will explain it till you understand the material.
I would recommend it if you had prior background in Japanese language prior. The class is fast pace but you can catch up to the material if you put an effort.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Thank you for everything, I will hold on to this knowledge as long as I live. Domo Arigatou Makishima Sensei.
ã?¾ã??ã??ã?¾å??ç??ã?¯ä¸?ç?ªæ?¥æ?¬èª?ã?®å??ç??ã?§ã??ã??
I wish she would be able to teach 101, 102, and 200 courses. I think teachers like her are valuble to the furtherance of culture diversity and acceptance.
She is a very good teacher in KCC for Japanese class. I like her very much because she is nice and professional at teaching Japanese to students.
Overall she is a very good, nice, caring, positive, and entertaining teacher.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?
She very fair and reasonable I think she's a very intellectual teacher and I would refer to other class mates of mine.
She makes everyone participate in class. She also changes our japanese partners/buddies so that we'll know each person in class.
She really wants everyone to pass so she always try to help in every way she can. She teaches very well and she is also very understanding.
I learned A LOT in her class. I absolutely love Japanese and wanna learn more. Great teacher.
She is very helpful and makes learning japanese fun.
She cares, and honestly wants you to learn.
She was very fun, energetic, and knew the subject very well.
She covered a lot of information in a short amount of time, and her classes are fun. She explains topics clearly, making them easy to understand.
She really enforces the material needed to learn the subject matter.
14. What changes, if any, do you suggest to the instructor?
loosen up and smile more.
Sometimes her japanese accent is hard to understand, but I can't make her change that.I'll just have to deal with it. ;)
She does everything well already.
Nothing.
When going over vocabulary in class it would be easier to go over them five at a time.
Instead of having daily mini quizzes which got to be a bit much I would have liked to have weekly quizzes which seem a bit more manageable.
Her system is a good one. Cannot think of any suggestions.
Maybe more time to allow students to soak in information that's given in class.
None.
none.
15. How did the instructor show concern for students?
my personal experience was when I was failing she never gave up the push on telling me to change my grade status to credit or no credit.
She put reminders on our papers and talk to us in person if she have to. She's approaches us in a nice and calm way too.
She would always let you know what you miss if you miss class. She reminds you important information and she offers tutoring. You can tell she doesn't want the student to fall behind. She is also very understanding.
She shows concern for her students by making time for her students to come in and see her for help with the course and responding to student's e-mails about the course promptly.
Helping as much as requested, being available, good communicator.
She was honest about grades and told students what they could do to bring it up.
She regularly sends updates via email, and she corrects our mistakes on written work as opposed to simply marking them wrong. I realize that it requires more time, but her efforts are greatly appreciated--it helped me understand grammar and sentence structure a lot faster.
she was always available for help after class.
16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?
YES no doubt
Yes. Her class is easy if you pay attention.
Yes because she is a good teacher that teaches very well.
Yes, amazing teacher!
I would recommend her to other students because she is one of the best japanese teachers I have ever had. Also she is very easy to get along with which makes it easy to communicate with her and learn more effectively.
Yes, because she is a great teacher.. duh.
Yes, because she is a fun teacher!
YES! I already have; I really enjoyed her class, because she teaches energetically and has a wonderful sense of humor.
I already have!!
yes I would. She is a very thorough educator.
17. What else would you like to say about this instructor?
Wonderful teacher would have never known she was new.
She's a cool teacher! Students coould joke aroound with her. She's like a teacher/friend.
I am going to miss her!!!!
She is a very positive and encouraging teacher.
I like her a lot.
I want to thank her for helping me learn to speak in front of a class; I have a social anxiety disorder, but working with different partners and speaking everyday was a big step toward overcoming my fears.
