16. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?

It was nice collaborating as a group to complete a project. The assignment modules were informative and interesting.

I liked that we had to apply some of the knowledge we learned in class to real life working with children.

Learning about the various webtools I was not aware of prior to taking this course.

The online collaboration. Also, I enjoyed using the Ning website. It was easier to follow (assignments than Laulima.

The online traing. Gogle docs and the NING website were excellent programs to work with:)

I felt that learning how to integrate technology into my future lesson plans was the most important concept that I have learned.

Online collaboration

The projects and discussion were very good. Some of the other assignments seemed too simple while doing them, but it turns out that they generated a lot of good discussion - so I think that was the point of those particular assignments.

Although it was definitely a lot of work, I think the unit plan was the most beneficial because it helped present a good representation of lesson planning in the classroom and gave students a good experience preparing one. I also really liked that we had peer reviews because it helped us to look at different parts of our lessons that we may not have noticed on our own.

17. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?

I felt like much of the material was too basic for a 400 level course.

Did not find any assignments to be not valuable. The Illuminate sessions didn't benefit me much.

I think the idea of collaborative groups and using Google Docs was valuable, but the experience was a little frustrating for me. It can be difficult when all members do not follow timelines or group agreements.

Pedagogy theory was sometimes weak if not counter-productive.

I really feel the course was ran well. All the information was useful.

Some aspects of the modules were not interesting, e.g., website on webquests.

Not enough class meetings via eluminate.

All the different required readings from different websites, it got a little confusing at times when we had to many different windows and things going on at the same time. As we went through the semester it definitely got easier to manage but sometimes it did feel a little much to handle.

18. Ten years from now I'll probably remember this course most by ...

It being the first completely online course that I took that had a sense of community.

All of the technology that I didn't know existed...how to look at a situation and apply which ones benefit the students learning.

Being introduced to various webtools, and foreseeing how technology can enhance the curriculum and increase student engagement.

The Google docs paper. I liked the different tools people wrote about. It provided me with different technology ideas for my school.

I will remember my UBD unit because it is the first complete technology integrated unit plan that I have created.

What I learned about the course material was great, but what I learned about myself has really been eye-opening.

Excellent. I struggled because of personal issues, and she helped me through it and encouraged me through it all. She was very good about getting back to me when I had questions about assignments and class in general.

fantastic and knowledgeable. I will recommend this instructor to fellow students and teachers.

Awesome. Took time to answer personal questions related to the content, but not specifically to class requirements. I respect and admire her.

She was knowledgeable and patient. She helped to calm my nerves in the beginning because I entered the course not being too tech savvy.

She really cared about the student needs. She was flexible and adapted well to the challenges of an online course.

She did the best she could for this class.

The instructor was understanding and well trained in the subject. I would definitely take another class from this instructor.

The instructor is very understanding and accommodating. She has thorough knowledge and seemed enthusiastic about the material.

No complaints. Easy to communicate with.

Dr. Nguyen is a great teacher, she incorporates great technological aspects in her unit and really encourages real aspects of teaching within the assignments. She also responded very quickly to her email if we had any questions, and if she was unavailable for whatever reason, she made sure someone was able to communicate to us about what needed to be done and the expectations that were required of us. Communication is key between teachers and students especially when you're working with an online distance learning course.

More practicality and less theory.

I would not change anything about the readings in this class.

I would prefer a more clearly defined table of contents or checklist for each week's assigned readings and assignments. I found that it was easy to miss something while going thru the course material on Laulima due to the nature of clicking thru nested pages.

I had a very hectic schedule so having a lot of readings was a little difficult. I think it would help to have small summaries of the important topics to get the basic idea and subject of the reading. Many times, ideas would get lost within all the readings and I think we could have done with less required readings. I really enjoyed the videos because they were short clips that demonstrated how these technological aspects were integrated into real world situations.

Utilize Ning more and online communication (chats)

More cross-sharing of what individual students were doing in their classrooms.

I felt the way the instructor handled the discussions was excellent. No changes need to be made.

I liked the discussion sessions and would not change anything.

The discussions helped us to think outside of the box and let us get to know our classmates. They were a good part of the curriculum.
