Knowing when things were due

All the different issues in sports that you never really look at, even though you love sports.

very well rounded... test, quizzes, discussion, and paper. Lots of points to accumulate.

Compared to other classes I've taken in the past, I really enjoyed the readings of the course. They got me thinking about different aspects of sports that many people do not think about. It's not just teams and competitions, there are many different details in sports that are affected by history and society that affect different outcomes.

9. Which aspects of the course were least valuable?

The quizzes were very intense and sometimes was confused with what readings were assigned to each quiz.

The percentage for tests and quizzes are high and impact ones grade the most. As a student, I learn the most through the online discussions. I would have loved to seen greater focus and percentage toward the Discussions.

I didn't like how the quizzes had such a short time constraint. With all of the readings that applied to each weekly quiz, 20 minutes was not nearly enough time to look back and skim back over something you read. It is impossible to remember specific details when you have to read a chapter of the text book every week and also additional readings.

20. How can the instructor improve the teaching of this course?

Try and make the quizzes easier. This was part of the course I struggled on the most.

Make instructions clearer for assignments. Improve quality of tests and quizzes. Weekly quizzes were hard to pass even though you read all the material. Questions were posed in a confusing matter, where more than one answer could be right, depending on how to you interpret it.

I definitely think that some sort of extra credit assignment should be given sometime throughout the course. It's easy to miss an assignment or two in any class, much less an online one, so I think extra credit would be really helpful for students.

Not so much focus on quizzes but more on the discussion. That is where you can verbalize what you learned not in a high pressure test.

Like I said before, increase the amount of time available to take each quiz and provide extra credit.

I really enjoyed the research paper because it got me into looking more in depth about a certain aspect/specific topic related to the course.

The different readings were entertaining and insightful

I liked that this course motivated us to interact with each other despite being an online course.

Flexibility of it being online was amazing!

That it was very well organized and good for time flexibility so you can complete the class on your own time.

Probably the fact that the quizzes and tests are only available for one day and half only. It is hard to squeeze that into my schedule sometimes and thats why I chose to take it online for the flexibility.

Quiz material was a little confusing on what we were supposed to know and what not.

Double check what she requires for quizzes because some quizzes had questions that were not in the assigned the reading.

Maybe communicate more effectively to get us involved in the course.

Maybe make the quizzes able to take all week instead of just a 2 day span so people can take it earlier if needed.

minimize the reading material

As I stated earlier about the flexibility of quiz and exam times. Overall weekly course work was more flexible and nice for my insane schedule.

Make quiz time periods a little longer. Give a little more material to study for quizzes and exams. And more than just an essay for your assignment to help your grade.
