She has a bright and vibrant style that engages students to think critically and emotionally.

Her lectures were really interesting. She personalized them and gave really educational anecdotes. These stories helped me to understand things better.

Her explanations were very clear. She was able to present the information in a way that allowed me to understand the major and complex concepts.

Mrs. Aganon is very approachable, which makes class lectures more engaging. She is very obviously a great nurse, and makes students feel comfortable asking questions and participating in lectures. I learned a lot from her this semester.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?

Very positive teaching style. She is very caring of her students and is very patient with them. She treats them with respect and sees them as equals. Miss Aganon always brings a smile to my face!

She brings real world nursing into the classroom and she also uses humor as well as real life stories to make the information stick.

Her knowledge and understanding towards her students.

Mrs.Aganon keeps the students engaged in her lecture. :)

Major strength is that she is very knowledgible on the subject.

NONE!

maybe have the lectures reflect the exams in order ~ unless we do it out of order to have a broader knowledge for our clinical.

Prompt grading posts.

Better organization with coursework, calendar and communication between instructors. There were conflicts on information the students received, which was difficult. However, the instructors were understanding of those conflicts, so it did not reflect on student's grades, which was a relief. But better organization & communication would be much easier on stressed out nursing students.

No changes necessary. Just a bit more organization.

I suggest that she should reply to emails more promptly. There are days we expect her to be there to lecture, but another instructor shows up. Sometimes she is late to class. Instructors should show a good example for punctuality.

Faster response to emails.

She could be a little better organized and check her emails more often.

Always available and very fair when evaluating the concerns of students.

She would always ask if we had any questions or concerns. She remained supportive as well as straight forward when it came to what was expected from us as OB students

Be available outside of class hours and treated students with empathy, understanding and equality.

She verbalized that we may contact her with any concerns/questions we may have.

Instructor takes out questions and concerns about the exam into consideration. She listens to our arguements.

16. Would you recommend this instructor to students? Why or why not?

Yes, Miss Aganon has a heart of gold. She loves her students and will always try her best to bend backwards for them. It should be required that every student experience Miss Aganon's unique and very positive way of teaching!

Yes, She is fair and understanding. You will learn a lot.

Definitely because she is someone you can rely on in regards to the course subject and she is a well-rounded teacher who treats her students fairly.

Yes - she's a great teacher & knows her material. She's good fun & keeps lectures interesting. She's also understanding of what we go thru as students.

Yes, she's a very good instructor. While educating us, she gets us involved in activities and she is also very entertaining when teaching pertinent information in regards to the lecture.

Ms Aganon is an outstanding instructor and a valuable asset to KCC

She is knowledgable and compassionate and empowers students through her strict yet nurturing demeanor.

Very knowledgeable in the content area. She was very nice, funny, & approachable. She provided a good atmosphere for learning.

Her knowledge of the material and her sense of humor kept the class interesting.

Knows the subject matter based on years of hands-on experience, includes humor in lecture without sacrificing content.

She was always open to answer questions. She was very nice & funny. She addressed requests & concerns that students had.

Yes, I would recommend her. She is very knowledgable in her course material.

Yes, absolutely! I learned and experienced more in Lisa's class than in any other thus far.

Yes, absolutely. She was a great teacher overall. I liked that she really taught you what you really needed to know in this course & explained what you would see & what to look for when caring for your patients.

Lisa is a good communicator and makes the lectures very interesting. She is also very supportive in the clinical setting.

Knowledgeable in theory and practice. Blends "real-world" stories in with lectures to get the point across. Approachable. "Tuned-in" to students and tailors the message. Cares about student progress and is encouraging.

Lisa is one of those few instructors that has a passion for not only her craft and field, but also teaching and inspiring new thought in her students. She clearly loves what she is doing and allows even the most reluctant L&D student to embrace the material and learn to appreciate the course.

She is very attentive.

Lisa is approachable and listens to student concerns with an open mind. She is a student advocate. She made me feel as though she was "tuned in" to me and my style of learning. She seemed to tailor her messages to the recipient to get a lesson across.

Lisa is supportive of her students and their growth as student nurses always available to help

She answered emails in a timely manner. She spent time with the student until the students understood concept or questions were answered.

Lisa ensures that if we have a deficency in an area and come to her for help, she makes sure that we understand what we did wrong and how we can improve and then gives us an oppertunity to show that we understand.

Lisa often asked how we are doing, what we were thinking and allowed us to share with each other our stories that make-up who we are. Having the opportunity to share our stories made us closer as a class and better students giving us various views of how eclectic our backgrounds truly are.

YES

Definitely. She is the best nursing professor at KCC.

Yes. Her lecture style is engaging. She creates good rapport with the class and encourages participation. She is patient, approachable, and a student advocate. If she says she will do something or check on something for you, she will do it and promptly.

Yes, Lisa is a great benefit to me, the other nursing students, and to the KCC Nursing program. Her teaching by lecture, clincial, and example shows me what I need to do to become a great nurse one day.

Absolutely! Lisa is a great instructor, fair without being a 'pushover' and extremely easy to learn from.

all around great role model in & out of the classroom!

So far, Lisa has been the ONLY instructor willing to actively listen to our concerns as a class. For example, when we grade our exams if there ever were a question/inconsistency in a test question she would allow the time for discussion and amend the answer/exam to make the question more clear. Usually instructors dismiss our questions, unwilling to see OUR point of view with a look that screams "how dare you question me." It is such a relief to acutally have our questions answered and concerns alleviated.

13. What are the instructor's major strengths as a teacher?

She is an excellent teacher and instructor. She is very skilled in the clinic setting as well as in the classroom. She makes you feel comfortable and always gives good advice and encouragement that helps students learn to their full potential.

She is very helpful and understanding. She is willing to take extra steps to help students in need.

Her knowledge and experience in the subject area! She's enthusiastic about teaching which doesn't bore us in class.

Lisa is a very good instructor. She presents the information in a way that is easy to understand and helps facilitate learning. Her lecture classes were very informative but not boring. I didn't feel intimidated to ask questions. I think she provided a feeling of support and encouragement for the students.

Ms. Aganon makes learning fun.She tells stories to assist in understanding material.

She made the material interesting. She gave examples of real life situations. She was very funny and down to earth.

She knows material, can relate professional experience to material being taught, keeps students engaged.

Passionate about nursing and knows how to connect with students. Provides a learning environment - not just a "teaching environment."

15. How did the instructor show concern for students?

She always encouraged me with good advice and helps you determine your strengths and weaknesses. She tells you how it is and keeps it real.

She makes sure that students understood the materials by reviewing and repeating the important topics.

She showed concern by checking with us ahead of time for schedule changes. She also provided us with her contact information if we had any concerns outside of class time.

She was easy to approach and ask questions. She would take the time to explain things if you didn't understand.

I had an appt for food stamps one day and had to be a little late for class.We had a presentation that day.Without hesitation, she told me to take care of what I needed to and I received the missed information from my classmates. She also frequently asked us if we understood what she was talking about which showed that she cared about our learning.

She encouraged me to think for myself when I had questions. We would go down the list of possible answers and figure out which one was correct or incorrect.

Would take the time to talk to students, answering questions, and listened to concerns.

Yes, I would recommend Lisa to students. This was the best section of the nursing program so far. Lisa is fair and shows support for the students.

I would recommend Lisa Aganon to students because she knows the material inside and out. She will give you examples of life situations. She's a very nuturing instructor. We need more of her in the nursing program at KCC.

I felt you were the best teacher so far that I had experienced in nursing school.

She is an excellent instructor who demonstrate care and encourages students to do their best.

I enjoyed this maternity rotation. Lisa did a great job facilitating this section of the nursing program. She shared stories that related to the subject that we were covering and made the class interesting.

Thank you for a very entertaining semester :) this semester has been far the greatest during my entire nursing journey.

Compassionate and nice teacher who knows this subject matter well. She is admired and revered by people she works with in the hospital and is a great role model for nursing students.

We need more Lisa Aganon(s) at KCC's nursing program. She's nuturing and is very helpful to her students. She never yells or embarasses you in front of your patients unlike some other instructors.

I wish all of my instructors were like lisa!
