23. Which aspects of the course did you like the best?
|
| I like the aspects of memory and intelligence of psychology. I learned many
things that will be helpful for my studying and how I learn things. This
aspects are going to help me now and on the future. |
| The new information I learned about psychology was really interesting. I never thought that this subject had so much to it. This course really opened my eyes to many things in life. |
| She was very patient and understanding when it came to the students need for understanding and
gave examples which helped me to understand the sunject better |
| I liked the term paper project...I probably didn't do too well on it but I liked the fact that I
was able to go out and do research on different things |
| Aspects about each and every systems of our body. |
| Erica did her lectures and the way she explained it to us, the way we could understand it better. Erica was very clear on all of the chapter we had gone over. Great professior. |
| I enjoyed your class. I appreciate the way you explain methods in simple day to day form. |
| The best part of the course was the class discussions. They really made students engage in topics
that are important. |
| the way she made extra credit points or other ways for us to get extra points to get a
better grade. |
| I liked learning about the brain. I also liked reading about the weird case studies because they were
interesting and could be explained by the concepts we learned about. I liked the abridged versions
of the powerpoints. |
| I LOVED HER POWER POINTS!!! |
| The aspects of the course I liked the best was learning about the variety of things in
psychology. A lot of it really got my attention and I can relate it to myself and the world around
me.
I also enjoyed the PowerPoints that were shown and how my teacher was able to explain
something I didn't get in a way I was able to understand and make my own examples. Also
how we had full access to these PowerPoints on Laulima so I was able to review them after
class and study them for tests.
I also enjoyed how understanding my teacher was and is always willing to hear our opinions
and able to compromise with everyone. |
| I liked the way the course topics were organized. The objectives for each
class meeting were set from the beginning and were clearly explained. |
|
|
24. Which aspects of the course did you like least?
|
| I like least the neuroscience aspect of psychology. The science behind our
brain and how we think is great but its just too much for a chapter. |
| I hate lectures...I can't sit there for a long time listening to a lecture |
| The test were very challenging. |
| None. |
| none |
| The scientific words and details in psychology. |
| I didn't like doing the article summaries because it felt like so much work for a 100 level class.
Lectures were not interesting. |
| THE SUMMARIES |
| The aspect of the course I like least was the first test we took it just had a lot of information
that we had to remember and I would get so confused on some questions. |
| There were little class discussions that included a whole lot of the
students. Also, there were little hands-on activities. I think that the one
activity in which we had to show that we understood the lesson was a great
activity, so I feel that we could have done more of those. |
|
|
25. My overall evaluation of this course is...
|
| I like this class. This is my first class in college and I started liking
college already. I thought at first that college is going to be intimidating
and hard but even though we have a lot to do, I learned one thing: college is
just high school where I have more responsibilities to do. |
| good i enjoyed taking this class compared to when i first took thos subject |
| It was pretty cool |
| I really enjoyed this course and learned a lot from it. |
| AWESOME |
| Love it. |
| My overall evaluation of this course is exceptional. The course taught me a lot and I would
recommend others to take it. |
| I enjoyed it! I've learned the many ways an individual works, learns, acts, behavior and etc.
Along with the many research methods. |
| It was alright. Lectures were painfully long, but thankfully it was only once a week. I wouldn't want to
take this course again. Much can be improved. |
| ITS WAS A GREAT AND INFORMATIVE COURSE |
| it was great and I learned a lot about things I never thought I'd be able to understand or ever
take into consideration. I'm happy to say I can apply the things I've learned and will definitely
use in the future. |
| Overall, this class went very well. We were able to learn many things. I
like how we were able to incorporate the research methods we have learned
with the whole course through our term papers. |
|
|
26. State in two or three sentences how this course could be improved.
|
| The class could have a short quiz for every couple of weeks so that we don't
cram up studying for the big test. The class could also have more discussions
so that first-timers like me will experience speaking. |
| n/a |
| I wish the class got involved more |
| i suggest to have quizzes on a weekly basis. Overall, everything else should stay the same. |
| N/A |
| Course is perfect. |
| Maybe taking little tests or practice tests would help us understand the chapters better and
get a better grade on midterm and finals. |
| More review sessions would have been better. Lectures seemed to go by really slow, and the
instructor should find ways to make it more interesting for the students. Breaking down the harder
sections of the material with more examples would have been helpful. Instructor should be easier to
contact, and should respond to student emails. |
| NO SUMMARIES |
| This course could improve by having more activities that relate to the chapters. Also maybe
give a little bit of homework on each section to give us more practice for the test. |
| This course could have been improved by adding more hands- on activities.
Hands- on activities and more welcoming class discussions would improve the
course. |
|
|
27. Other comments:
|
| This is my second time taking PSY 100. This is my first class with instructor Erica Balbag-Gerard. She did a fantastic job!!!! She explained the topic clearly with good and relatable explanations. She makes you feel comfortable, and takes the time should you have any questions. She does not make you feel like an idiot, like the usual instructor does. |
| N/A |
| Ms. Erica Balbag-Gerard showed exceptional professionalism. Her way of teaching really
emphasizes the topics, and she always makes sure that her students know what they are learning. |
| I noticed that all the powerpoints followed the book almost exactly, so sometimes it felt pointless to
attend class. Towards the end of the semester we began to run out of time to go through the whole
chapter, and the instructor picked and chose topics we needed to know for the exam. I think if she
had done that from the beginning, it wouldn't have felt as rushed, and more material would have
been absorbed. Basically, it would have been better if only main points were gone over in lecture, so
that the students would be more likely to absorb it, instead of going through every bolded word in
the chapter. |
| SHE IS A GREAT TEACHER! |
| Thanks a lot for everything! Really appreciate it! |
|
