15. My overall evaluation of this instructor is....
Very unbiased, intelligent, friendly, and an overall excellent discussion leader.
just okay. He needs to work on his organizational skills. Rarely replied to emails, quizzes were returned late, and lab grades or guidelines were never provided. But he is a nice and fairly knowledgeable TA.
Good leader for a TA class. Helped to clarify concepts from class. Makes issues relevant to daily lives and is very personable! Go Canada!
Kevin is a fantastic TA. He was very well prepaired for every lab session held. He was well organized, easy to talk with, and responsible as well as receptive to conversations and questions both in and out of the classroom. He will make an excellent instructor if this is the road he eventually choses. Kevin is someone who make class discussions interesting and was able to point out the relivency in what we were learning each week to our own lives.
Good Kid! Fair, yet is still able to conjure sensitive topics to be represented in a civil manner
Very easy to talk to and got our discussion groups to really think about the subject matter. Brought in good film sources to look at, all relevant to the discussion or debate for that day. Really knew his stuff.
Very good teacher, nothing but up for him.
a good evaluation. Kevin Lim was a good TA and helped Professor Sands in times that she could not be in class. He was always well prepared for our labs and allowed us as students to address issues that was presented in class. He helped me become a stronger speaker in my lab and allowed me to understand things better. I really enjoyed having Kevin as my TA. I would definetly recommened my friends to take the class.
he was very enthusiastic about the topics and helped me gain a better understanding of certain subjects. He was very helpful and available through email. I enjoyed having him as an TA.
He was very engaging and consistently encouraged us to really think about the issues we discussed. He helped us along when we had difficulties. Overall, it was a pleasure having him.
Kevin is an awesome TA. He was always there if anyone had any questions and was able to put this into context that people could understand
He did quite well in engaging a mostly neutral group of slackers and keeping them focused.
He is one the most knowledgeable people I have come across. He has been able to understand my questions and has been able to thoroughly answer and expand on the answer with regards to the information in our course. He has also been very encouraging for me to continue with my education and in attending grad school! Mahalo Kevin! Good luck with your load!
He was a good TA and was really helpful. He helped start our class discussions and was able to answer our questions.
good. he explained topics well. gave a lot of opportunities for class discussions.
He's a good TA and made difficult points and topics easily discussable to the class.

20. Which aspects of the course did you like the best?
enthusiastic conversations/debates
I enjoyed Kevin's frequent use of video to illustrate points.
Lectures. Lecturer. Site visit.
Lab and in class discussions
Debates were always interesting because we had to think from perspectives we sometimes normally would not have considered.
The discussions
I really did enjoy the fact that we had class time twice a week and then on Fridays we had labs that allowed us as students to get to know other students in class. Class decussions in lab allowed students to acknowledge their own opionions and brought really good ideas and opinions to everyones mind.
Topics were easy to study and talking about them during class helped me to understand them better.
The debates were probably the most interesting. I liked that we had relevant video clips to view once in a while.
I liked the site visit and the oral discussion sessions we had to go over what went on during the week's lecture
Class discussions
The music in the beginning of each religious section, so we all can focus on the topic at hand. I also loved all the photos Professor Sands used and her anecdotal stories to really breath life into these complicated, diverse, and historical concepts! I can only hope to one day be as oratorically engaging as Professor Sands! I also love the large class room and movie screen as this room gives us students lots of room to get comfortable in. I love not having to squish next to/on top of the student sitting next to me for a lecture. This space also gives me room to think and not be distracted by others.
I liked how he incorporated videos into what we were learning, it made the information much more interesting.
class discussions/ debates on intelligent design and homosexuality
Learning about historical evidence and cultural differences in religion and how we can discuss it in class helped. Kevin's points helped continue discussion.
21. Which aspects of the course did you like least?
lack of participation from many other students
It was hard to keep the class actively engaged, so often times class was boring.
Class quizzes.
group project
Debates...although they were interesting in a different way.
Discussion starters were a bit redundant, as they were usually just re-caps of the reading, which were difficult to respond to. Then again, easy points.
John
Nothing. I liked how the class was performed
n/a
I disliked that it was at 9:30AM, but I'm pretty sure Kevin doesn't have a say in that ;)
Non participatory classmates
Not getting my quizzes back. Also the sound in the auditorium....the cable connecting the audio equipment to Proff. computer is old and the sound sometimes didn't work or it made horrible scratcy noises making things hard to hear.
going to class. the chosen topics are often boring.
It was all enjoyable. Maybe more class time would help for discussions.
22. My overall evaluation of this course is...
Excellent
10/10.
Great class! Would suggest others taking it.
Worth the oral credit. Made me look at the foundations of our country's religious systems more, gave me better insight into government as well.
fun and interesting
It is a very interesting class. I enjoyed it and will recommend this class to my friends.
Interesting course and I would recommend it to others.
A good course if you're looking to learn about religions and how the American mind set has brainwashed many of us to be closed minded to them and only accept the "American" way
Well executed.
AWESOME! Everyone even slightly interested in learning anything about America should be required to take this course! I think we would all be able to stimulate a new type of public religion in our society and have a positive impact on those around us, thus creating a rippling effect of understanding those around us!
okay, some parts are intersting
This is a good time.
23. Other comments:
I''ve recommended it to other students in AMST.
Very enjoyable course.
good luck kevin
