15. What did you like least about your online course experience?

The only thing that I dislike about online courses are the fact that I am not able to interact with classmates and my instructor as much as I want to.

I really enjoyed having online classes. I would do again next semester. Leanne is a wonderful instructor and was very professional and personable.

Some problems with communicating with teammates during the group work. but this experience is variable depending on the people involved and is not that indicative of the course itself.

Honestly there was too many group assignments through out the week.

I would prefer to take a class with a teacher in front of me. I did not like the whole online experience.

Some assignments didn't want to take my work even if I did it as instructed.

If there is anything I could enter here that is negative it would be that I dislike that during this course we have to interact with our peers and if our classmate doesn't work together with us, we can't get a good grade.

16. What did you like most about your online course experience?

I like the convenience of being able to work on assignments according to my schedule.

I really liked the flexibility of it and the ease of it. I was unsure in the beginning, but I am confident in it and would recommend it for anyone who has a really busy lifestyle but would like to go back to school, like me.

Learning how to fully make use of programs like Word and Excel that I use all the time. It was informative, interesting and was satisfying to put what I learned into practice in other class projects.

It was flexible with my schedule during the semester.

It was easy to follow along and it wasn't as hard as I expected.

This course was a great on-line course and i recommend ICS 101 thought my Leanne to everyone

Teacher is very helpful

The online course had students interact and learn much of the materials as a group which helped learning processes more concise.

18. What did you find most valuable and helpful about the instructor?

Leanne is very personable and helpful. She is also a very encouraging and positive instructor.

Her professionalism and approachability with her students. She made herself available for any help we needed and answered at a timely manner.

She was effective in keeping everyone informed about the current assignment and facilitating group discussion during the online conferences. Also she was very quick to respond to any questions I asked about the course and gave a satisfying and useful answer.

She was always able and ready to help with anything that deals with the course or technical problems. Responds very fast.

She was available by skype or email. I felt confident that if I needed help, she would be there to help me.

Everything about Leanne Chun was awesome. i really enjoyed her course and I wish she did more ICS class cause I would take her again.

The extra credit opportunity in the end. Also, allowing late submissions of assignments was helpful.

She is so kind, and helpful! She is always interacting with us and although this is an online course, I felt she was always a click away rather than 300 miles.

did not respond to questions fast

I cant find too much negative about her handling of the course. Since it was an online course interaction with the instructor was fairly limited but it was enough to help us through the course despite this limitation.

The projects in this course allowed students to learn material better. Also, working in groups throughout the semester helped students to learn as well. Allowing late submmissions for 50% credit, I am thankful.

Great Course, covered a lot of material in a more effective method of learning.

I've taken many computer classes, most of them also being online. Leanne was by far the most helpful, fun, interactive class I've ever taken.

15. What did you like least about your online course experience?

The Person program worked very glichy and in some cases not at all when communicating with the company I was unanswered and I feel there was plenty of time to respond. This made it harder to get projects done. And in many cases I didn't get The online collabourate was quite good at relayihg messages and communication not only with the teammates their and relay messages to those who were not there.

It was unexpected to do group work with fellow students. I didn't expect to meet anybody for this online class. If I was not lucky enough to get a good group, then I probably would have hated this class.

The Naluhou Experience, mainly because we were working in groups and it was difficult to manage time.

Group work was not very good. Some students got credit for not doing work while others did the work.

16. What did you like most about your online course experience?

COlaborating with my classmates & instructor was reall really helpful in my growing stage.

Although the group work was unexpected. It gave us valuable experience when working with Microsoft Applications

The entire class set up. There was a mixture of group and individual work. The assigned assessments related to the material learned.

Through this course I learned a lot about ethics and office programs concepts that I now recognize and use.

Communication with instructor and the web page portion of the class

I liked that we could learn at our own pace on myitlab. I also enjoyed the guest speakers and think that they are good to include.

Her imput was quite (most) valuable in this course.

She was always reachable, with office hours and meetings online

Leanne was very encouraging. She communicated quickly and was always available for help. Leanne provided many resources to help us understand the different apps and programs we were working with.

She was always available for help and quick to answer emails. She was very understanding and easy to talk to.

Communication

Leanne Chun was very helpful online and in person. She would always clarify things for me whenever I approached her with a problem.

She was very helpful with office visits.

19. What did you find least valuable and helpful about the instructor?

Person is a nessarry program for this class but it is a bit problematic when projets need to be in on time. And the frustration from this program made me want to not use it

teamwork and deadlines

Mrs. Chun was most helpful during our group projects, she clarified what need to be done and acted as a referee when we had group disagreements.

The time she makes available to the students no matter what the situation was.

The Naluhou Project because even though it wasan online class we had to work in groups like a real job.

Very nice, very accessible.

She was always available for help and questions. She also responded promptly to emails. She always had what needed to be done outlined every week.

Her desire to teach. She is knowledgable and courtious to the students.

The way that she designed the course so that it was reflective of situation that we will encounter in the real world. She also gave timely feedback as well as posted grades quickly.

The scenario was a very creative aspect of an online class that I have never encountered before.

Online collaboration and the forums.

I liked the fact that I could do my assignments at my own pace.

That there was only one assignment per week and it was always due on the same day at the same time.

Learned a lot and her assignments were straightforward. She told us whats due and all we just did the work.

Organized, knew what was expected and the ability to work ahead

I like the Nalu Hao scenario that was assigned to the class.

I enjoyed working on a project with a group of people.

19. What did you like least about your online course experience?

deadlines and peers constricted and limited schedules

I disliked having to deal with group projects and having added stress when I just wanted to learn the program.

Having to meet up with group members because i thought it was an online course...

Group work portion, but it was still beneficial.

I did not like that some of our assignments depended on the critique of our classmates.

Elluminate and the technical restrictions on MyIT Lab.

Due to the fact that the class was online, I had a hard time coordinating a specific time to meet via Skype with my group.

We had online chats that we were able to get feedback on our assignments. This really helped when we had the group projects so that we knew we were heading in the right direction. We also got clarification during this time if we had any questions.

She always sent out e-mails telling us what was due and if we had any questions we could e-mail her. Also she would always post our grades on time and she gave us enough time to do our work.

THe every week announcements she makes is really helpful,it keeps me updates and its a good reminder to keep track on my assignments.

The most valuable benefit was the scenario based strategy approach where we completed group assignments as a real life team of IT consultants. This allowed me to use not only content material used for software programs but to also sharpen skills of team communication strategies, apply professionalism in presentation skills and makes valid connection of content material to real life application of material.

I learned different skills with Microsoft Office. There are so much things that I did not know I could do with it. I also learned how to make a website, which was much easier than I expected. This was also the first time I did online chats with communication that was more than typing to other members. Talking through a headset was much better than typing to my group members.

This course was very flexible for me and it really did not give me too many problems all semester long. It was very educational.

I prefer working alone and not one for group assignments. The group assignment was a good experience, but not something I enjoyed.

In the beginning, it took me some time to get accustomed to where I could find the assignments. some were in the assignments tab, some were in myitlab, some links were in emails. I missed the first assignment simply because I did not know about it in time. I completed it, but i will recieve 1/2 credit. I was pretty peeved about that. Also, the myitlab assignments took several hours to complete. I was told about 6 hours were needed for this course a week, and it was more like 12-16 hrs. Very time consuming for a 100 level class.

that sometimes it the site would log off or time out on its own in the middle of a test.

I would have preferred the ability to use a mac operating system to complete assignments.

I would definitely recommend this course and teacher to others. I have taken both ICS 100 and ICS 101 and they actually differ GREATLY. I learned a great deal in this course and thoroughly enjoyed the naluhou scenario.

I really found the team scenario very helpful. We had to act as consultants to clients. The scenario was a good way to apply what we were learning and to gain a deeper understanding of MS Office.

the IT lab. They are good but very scattered. The training was hard because you did not what they were trying to get. So I felt like a robot learning the steps.

Groupwork! Because of the online environment, it was challenging to get everyone to meet up at a particular time and day in order to discuss assignments. This presents a challenge when you have conflicting schedules withing your group.

myitlab was way to hard and I learned nothing from it

I don't like the fact that Microsoft is the core of the course. I find it antiquated and sometimes a bit confusing.

There wasn't anything that I can point to that was unhelpful. If the project had been spread out over more time I think it would have been easier to coordinate schedules with classmates though.

The Nalu Hou portion of the class where we reasearched computer ethics. Researching about computer ethics didn't really fit in to this class.

I think the curriculum could have been evenly distributed across the semester. We were working extremely hard at the beginning. Then from mid Nov, it slowed down almost 50%. It was really challenging during the first half of the semester, trying to get the team projects completed within the deadline.

I actually think she did an excellent job in this course.

If the group projects were graded individaully I think the class would be fairer. It is not always possible to make sure everyone has there part ready by the deadline, if someone fails to do their part then the whole gruop must suffer.

Since everyone is busy during the weekdays, it would've been great to have the assignments due on sundays.

Leanne was very friendly and easy to talk to, but she maintained a professional conduct, so I always respected her as a teacher. She was well organized and prompt.

She provided a safe "work" environment that we would experience out in the real-world with the scenarios that she presented to us.
