| Dr. Aumer-Ryan's fun personality and her knowledge of the subject material made her a great instructor. Her expectations are clear and concise, she is a fair grader, she explains class material very well, and she generates enthusiastic class discussions. She is one of my favorites and I would love to take a class from her again. |

| The instructor encouraged questions and class discussions. She knows her material and covers a lot of it during classtime. She assigns each student to do a presentation during the course of the semester - we get to pick from which chapter we want: most students got the choice they wanted and which day to present it. She gave each presenter about 20 to 25 minutes alloted time, which was reasonable, and left it to us how we want to make the presentation: power point or taped interview or game style etc. The students appreciated the flexibility, and the wide range of topic for our theme as long as it was related to the chapter. Our exams were spread out for every 6 chapters or so, multiple choice format. That way we covered the whole book of 26 chapters in a timely and organized way. She is an excellent instructor for this course! |
| I thought professor Aumer-Ryan was very intellectual. She knew the subject matter really well and made it very interesting to learn. She had incorportated a really interactive way of learning by encouraging questions or concerns and also requiring a presentation project. It was really engaging and she had a lot of personal experiences or situations that she could refer to when explaining the topics given. Overall, she is an awesome teacher and I really enjoyed her class. |
| Dr. Aumer-Ryan is a very educated women and knows her topic extremely well. I have had a few
lecture based courses before, but the way Katherine teaches has assisted my learning greater
then any of my other professors. She does use power point which is helpful for students because
they can visually see what she is teaching. My favorite part about the class was every time we
would cover a topic, Katherine would give outstanding examples of what the meaning was or
could be referring to. I think having a student teach the last 20 minutes of class is very creative
and offered a lot of students to learn something new! I feel Katherine is freshly educated and
could relate to all the students on a equal level. I liked her because she never judged students or belittled them, like other professors I have had. I heard this class was hard and a lot of students
told me they dropped it, but I found it to be one of my favorite classes. I think it is helpful that
she does not give home work out everyday... So we can study on our own free time. I never felt
rushed, stressed out, or pressured to have something done. Which gave me ample time to study
for the test and study worry free. We covered the entire book in this class, which was great. The
exams covered a lot but it was very helpful that Katherine posted power points online that
contained all the needed and in my eyes most important information from each chapter. The
tests weren't too bad. About 60 questions. I think Katherine is a great professor, with a lot of
skill and talent, highly educated, and very good at seeing all possible views of a situation. I am
glad I took this class and would love to take another class with Katherine in the future. |
| Dr. Ryan is very knowledgeable in her material and delivers it very clearly during her lectures. Her willingness to engage in class discussion allows her students to understand the material from perspectives other than her own. Her charisma and professionalism allows her to be easily approachable during her office hours which is important for students that may have difficulties in the course. She is genuinely interested in her students' performance and tries to help them achieve their goals to the best of her professional abilities. She is a valuable asset to the UH program and I would personally recommend any student interested in taking FAMR to take her classes. |

| The instructor was very educated about the course material and used life examples to help illustrate a better understanding for students. I have learned a great deal of information and was provided with a great experience at the same time. The lectures were far from boring, unlike most classes at KCC. This teacher changed my view on the subject, and from being a student who rarely had any motivation to attend class, I developed into a student who attended every class. I will miss this instructor and I hope that other students will have her as an instructor. Any student that is placed into her class is very fortunate and will develop a connection with both the instructor and the course material. |
| Ms Aumer knows her material very well. She was able to answer every question that students had with a very thorough and informative reply. She is also very enthusiastic and very open to suggestions and comments. She also listens to students very well and is friendly. Outgoing teacher, definately knows what she is talking about. Attractive and pretty as well. |

| The instructor created a great learning environment. She utilized powerpoint slides while describing events in her personal life that resembles the concept of the topic being learned. Emphasization on participation and class communication. She encouragerd students to attend class by including problems on the test that you would only know from the lecture. I learned a great deal of things that will help me throughout the rest of my life and even others. This class was not one of those easy classes that you can get an easy 'A'. She makes you work or your grade and creates a reasonable amount of assignments. If you are interested in this class, I recommend this teacher. She has a great personality and make class lively. |

| I really enjoyed the manner in which class was conducted by Katherine. All the material taught in this course is information I'm very familiar with through my Bachelor's degree, so I did not learn much material that is new. Though what I enjoyed and appreciated was the way she interacted with the whole class and held daily discussions based off the material being taught. I felt Katherine really knew how to connect with her students and relate to them, making for a very comfortable and fun learning atmosphere. More importantly, she shows obvious background and extensive knowledge in the subject area. It wasn't like just listening to verbatim from the book. |
