13. What did you like about this course, such as activities, projects, assignments, etc.?

I looked forward to going to this class. This instructor knows her material and has been able to teach everyone in the class to their style of learning. Our system is lucky to have an instructor with her talents. My thanks to her for making class a great experience for my mind.

The activities, projects, and assignments were all relevant to the topic of psychology and were interesting. They were well-rounded.

Everyweek we had sosmething new and entertaining going on. She always left us wanting more. It was my longest class and i thought i would be asleep by the time it was over, but instead i was very much awake and involved with whatever she had the class doing. I never wanted to miss a single class.

She was very patient and understanding. Our disscussions we had were useful.

I liked Mrs. Maris's teaching techniques and how she kept her students interested in her subject being taught through activities, projects and assignments.

I realy enjoyed this class. Professor Maris always made sure to keep things interesting. I liked working in groups, and all of the class discussions. Very thought-provoking.

14. Any suggestions to improve this course?

Please don't change a thing and keep bringing your real life experience to enrich your students.

The addition of small quizzes might be helpful to some students.

Honestly, she has the course pretty wuch dialed in. I would not recomend that she change the way she instructs at all.

I agree with this statement. I wish she taught more classes that I need. I believe my retention percentage in this class is going to be very high.

Yes, and more so. I would walk out of class everynight with some sort of odd fact. And i remember every one!

She ahd no problem explaining the material when other people asked her to. I have learned a great deal from her and I hope I can take some of her other classes that she teaches.

Her course was beneficial to pursue my degree and fulfill a career in Law Enforcement.

Yes. I definitely enriched my knowledge in the subject of psychology. But more importantly, I feel I Iearned valuable lessons in open-mindedness and interpersonal relations. The skill of knowing how to relate to others is the most important job skill you can have.

Wow, this is a hard one. Mrs. Maris is: Complicated Laid-back Devoted But she is also passionate and humorous. She seems like a know-it-all, but doesnt care that she doesnt. She is willing and able to learn more and teach more. She cares about her students and shares with them what she knows and what she has been through.

Funny Compassionate Sexy...that's just my overall opinion

The lectures she kept the whole classes attention.

The various ways the information was presented.

Every little thing. I really enjoyed our guest speaker Rob. The little vidoes we watched were helpful in understanding the course work, and it was releveant to our world today so we had a lot to say about it, and it was also fun to watch. Which cant hurt other teachers if they want to try it.

I loved our disscussions about how the terms and definitions were used in real life.

How all of the students in this class had an opportunity to work together and how we acquired the information and knowledge through this. Great learning techniques provided by Mrs. Marris.

the teaching style

The lectures were always interesting and memorable, and I loved interactions and discussions among the students. They were fun and spontaneous, but always educational and on-topic. Critical thinking was a constant.

It was a night class

The group stuff. That's just because my group was full of whining assholes who didn't want to do anything.

This instructor has what it takes for me to recommend her to my students.

She should be teaching Women Studies. She has a way of connecting with the students and helping them understand things while also listening to them like other teaches dont do.

Great class! Mrs. Marris did a wonderful job in instructing her class and in providing the knowledge she acquires to benefit our education in this subject.

I will do as my teacher did. She is one of my best teachers. I am glad to take this course with her.

Maybe the once a week class is not a good idea.

i wouldn't change anything. She knew what she was teaching and talking about and it has helped me out alot.

To improve the class I would better the communication between me and the students. I don't want them to think one thing when i meant the other. I wouldn't want them to do something, then out of the blue i come and just change things. I would make sure that i communicate my message well to my class and if i were to change my plans, i would tell my students a great deal ahead of time.

I would offer more handouts and games to stimulate the mind. I found them fun and full of knowledge..sometimes better than the book.

i liked her methods she was very new and refreshing and brought a lot to us in numerous ways.

She was very knowledgable about her field, but her teaching was abstract and I could never figure out what it was tht she expected from me.

I think that the teachers grading methods were really great! She taught using a great deal of variations and methods. some were lecturing, some things were hands on learning. She kept our brains active.

I loved Professor Maris teaching style and felt it was a balance of book and discussion. It was a good formula for a night time course.

The teaching method wasn't so great. The teacher basically lectured without visuals, or notes. It was hard to follow and apply. I dislike the way you teach and there are many other students who feel the same.

All it did was make me grumpy when I went to work the next morning!

My knowledge of the subject has vastly expanded since before i took the class, and it is mostly because of the teaching methods that she used.

YEs very much so, Psychology 100 was my favorite class.

I feel that it was an intense course because of the way the teaching methods, also because i rarely mastered any of the lessons. We rarely used our materials, so i don't know how this will help me in the future. I learned small concepts of psychology, but not enough.

The syllabus was not followed. Favoritism was shown - and I was not the only one that noticed this. You never clearly knew what she expected. Not that she wasn't nice - in fact at times she was funny, but I didn't take this course for fun and entertainment.

The environment was very casual and non-formal, where we don't feel intimidated by someone whose credentials far surpasses a lot of the students. she really made us feel welcomed and encouraged us to not only take the class because it is necessary, but to take the class to gain greater knowledge of the subject so that we can relate it to our lives.

Psychology is a tough course and to make it interesting for the students Im sure was a challenge. I really enjoyed her and will take another class from her in a second.

I hope next semester will be better, as to improving your teaching skills, being fair with every student, and using more effort with assignments and due dates.

She is good teacher

She is one of ,y favorite teachers.

The style of teaching was maybe not suitable for other classes, but for a psychology class it was more than perfect for teaching difficult concepts in an easy to understand way.

She had a great attitutde each time we had class. Always high energied and very professional.

like i said before, she knows how to teach effectively in ways everyone understands.

Ms. Maris was always professional.

She had a great attitude in class. she was always very punctual, and was very honest with us about pressing topics pertaining to the subject and our lives. Her behavior was spot on! Never showed anger or violent aggression towards us, but constantly supported and encouraged us to better ourselves and raise the bar on our own self expectations.

She had a great attitude and I actually felt many students were often talking in class and being a distraction. I think she should be more stricter with such students. She feels we are grown ups and in college but unfortunately some remain a kid at heart.

i cant think of any...It was really an enjoyable class and I learned alot about myself and my family. I think of things now that didnt matter before and I know why..I look at situations differently because now I know what is the better way to use my thought process. Im aware of my brain and its functions and I think its so interesting. For me, Psychology from Professor Maris was a good experience.

I wouldn't change a thing. I loved the interaction and there is no need for improvement.

Atma is a very insightful woman, and is encouraging of the understanding of new ideas and concepts. There were some times that she was frustrated by the lack of participation and attendance of other members of the class.

If i was teaching this course...I would come to class more prepared than usual or atleast a bit prepared. I would also come to class and show and have respect for my students at not sitting on the table and talking to us students like its okay. I would also change the fact us having the teacher try to draft the students into doing what they feel like not participating in. I feel that the instructor needs to work on her manners as well as being prepared before coming to class to teach. And have respect & class.

I think that Atma is a good teacher/instructor. I do however feel that she needs to increase the accountablity of her students, and not allow extra credit at the end of the semester for those that shrugged off the course throughout the semester.
