9. How can the instructor improve the teaching of this course?

| I think Celia Canty did great with this course. There's nothing that has to be changed. |
| More UHMC funding could improve this course and it's popularity. I suggest: theater seating(can become theater-standing) for the choir so Celia can be easily observed; risers for performances; a full-time accompaniest; green UHMC Choir polo shirts; sheetmusic provided by the first day of class; a UH supported, planned, advertised concert in a UHMC auditorium. |
| Since we only have class once a week, just a thought about how we can get everyone to learn the words and song, is to work on one song for about 3 weeks and then change each song every 3 weeks. I believe we skipped around from song to song, which was great, but it didnt help with trying to remember all the words and our parts. Overall everything was great |
| With a large class as we had this semseter, I might suggest (if it's an option) to employ a teaching assistant who can play the piano. That way you'll have someone else to help manage such a large group and someone to be on the piano while being free to conduct and keep an eye on things. |

| I like singing for other people and preparing for concerts. |
| I liked how there were study tracks to learn the songs on our own. |
| auditions for solo parts; memorization of our songs was difficult but worth it; giving our music to our community (esp. the final concert); excellent, inspirational direction! |

| Singing of course. I didn't like so much to be in the front row, but I know it was necessary. Also, the songs were a bit challenging. It was nice to have diverse languages to sing, but 3 was a bit much for me. |

| The objective is a commitment.
The commitment is being present and respectful towards the persons who are present during the chorus.
This is not about individual success, this is about being together with your fellow man and woman in one accord.
Every student should have a mandatory prerequsite for chorus.
Hopefully, this says alot about Ms. Canty. |

| Singing just has a way of making everything in the world seem right, and to be able to work as a team with others who love singing, too, was a magical experience. This class has truely inspired me, and has kept me going through some very tough times. Celia is an incredible woman, and I'm so proud to be her student! Anyone would be lucky to learn from her! |
