1. Which aspects of the course were most valuable?
All aspects of the course were valuable.
Web Design. Newsletter creation. Photoshop
nancy's eye for design was the most valuable part of the course, which was the whole course. she would take one look and ask, "so, why did you place that there", which was a way of encouraging us to do everything for a reason. on the technical side, i would say the dreamweaver portion was also the most valuable for me.
Hands on working with the computer, any and every little bit helps to better familiarize oneself with the expanding technology on this machine (and very much so on the Web). It's better if one has some basic skills for this class, as the environment is providing for those who are open ended in learning on the subject- meaning, less of being told when to 'click' where.

13. How can the instructor improve the teaching of this course?
Maybe go over things a little more slowly.
I was satisfied with the teaching of this course.
nothing, she did a great job. she showed care for the class that most teachers have forgotten about.
I would say skip Indesign all together, and explore student resources on the web. Pull more ideas in from how web-design is changing, where it's going, and what students can do with it. I felt I had a very basic level introduction into DreamWeaver, however, when approaching the web project did not feel equipped to design the ideas I had in my head. I do not think Nancy could have prepared better (as far as teaching DW goes) but perhaps in this case, the class could have referred to all different sorts of design technology available on the web today. Meaning students may have a better understanding of what's possible, and what's feasible for them (important) without being discouraged about the resources they will have available to them. This also allows one to think above and beyond the directions that web is already headed in. However! Ms. Ooki did do a wonderful job of leaving the information open- meaning, students were not 'taught' to death about such and such methods or technologies. I believe this is extremely important, and Nancy did an excellent job by teaching unbiasedly (towards a certain method, or promoting a certain technology). I believed she tried to remain as open as the web space- and that was refreshing. But, links to resources, and current information wouldn't be so bad. (example, I would have liked to know more about flash, how it works, or what do designers use if they don't use flash...)

17. Which aspects of the course did you like the best?
the newsletter.
I liked the programs we learned.
pretty much all of it.
I expressed it in the previous paragraph- Nancy is open in her teaching methods. And I do like the flow of the lectures.
18. My overall evaluation of this course is...
Good.
It is a great course for entrepreneurs who need to know these aspects of technology for marketing purposes.
a whole lot of information crammed into a short period of time. this course focused more on learning the selected programs than on graphic design. i would not suggest it for those without a creative background.
Recommended for those who need a jump start in the creative design world of the web. Better if you have some common understanding of searching the web, and using a computer.
19. State in two or three sentences how this course could be improved.
More time for each assignment and less stuff from the book.
Somehow giving us free software to use (Adobe CS4) and not downloading software, which was painful.
stress design theory. anyone can learn a program, it takes a teacher to impart design.
Use more online technologies, rather than (paid) software, such as the adobe packets. This technology is very neat, but when it comes to exploring what's possible as far as creative design goes, it's usually down to the individual. Thus, there are features in Google accounts that allow, basic drawing and designing, and they are free! Other universities have actually already joined the google doc method. Meaning there is no need for 'word' software, or hardrive space. It's all in a web cloud. This will be the instruments of the future of the internet- so more experience with them, and their capabilities is important for students today (to be active in the web world)
20. Other comments:
None.
i would recommend anyone who is interested in computer graphics to take full advantage of nancy's eye for design.
Kudos!
