19. If you were teaching this course:
a. What would you do to improve it?
b. What would you change?
|
| better communication, instructor should respond more promptly, grade and return assignments quickly, more clear instructions especially in the beginning of the course, detailed instructions in backing up and saving and submitting work |
| More guidance at the beginning. Give an outline of the best way to submit files electronically.
Possible in a Q & A format. |
| The only thing I would change is probably making this course an In-Class course. It was a bit confusing in the beginning but after a few chapters and the help of Ms. Lally, it became much easier. |
| Since this is a class that used Quickbooks, I would set up something with Quickbooks, in the Live help center where the students could ask Textbook questions. QuickBooks is set up to answer business questions which doesn't always answer the needs of a student. |
| It shouldn't be an online class. Better teacher. |
| Just the quiz questions, some were a bit confusing, other than that the class was good! |
| I have taken this course before with another instructor and Dianna Lally was right on track. |
| I would clearly state that assignments would be returned for makeup. |
| Explain how to submit assignments in more detail at the beginning of the course. |
| Beginning of the course, she respond more.
I wanted her to check our assignment more often so, we could correct our mistake earlier. |
| The only issue I really had with this class was the program. It would help if the program being used with the class would work properly. On several occassions, I had to uninstall and re-install the program. With my computer it was a hassle, but once I got it going everything went well. |
|
|
20. What do you think of the teacher and his/her teaching methods?
|
| not very clear. need more detail |
| What teaching methods? We read the text book and completed the assignments w/attachments via Laulima. |
| I like her teaching methods. She always let us learn from our mistakes which was a big help. |
| This is an online class, but Mrs. Lally was very helpful in answering questions through e-mail. She also drove over a couple of times from Kona to help her me with my class work. She gave more than a 100%. |
| Maybe she could have explained things more clearly so that we could all understand. |
| The teacher doesn't help. All she says is to read the book to figure out how to do the problem. I ended up giving up and getting the bad grade. She doesn't correct homework on time. Also she fails to respond to emails, it may take up to 3-4 days, i think she should respond faster because it is an online class. |
| above average |
| Her teaching methods and her leniency was very helpful in achieving both of our goals. |
| Ok. Could be better. Doesn't reply to e-mail too quickly. |
| I think she is a very good instructor. She gave me hints when I couldnt find out where I went wrong in my assignments, then gave another chance for me to resubmit it with the right answers. I think this is a good method because it helps you find and correct errors, thus aiding in the learning process. |
| Overall very good. |
| I enjoyed my class with Mrs. Lally. When I had questions, she was always available by email. I hope to have a class with her again soon. |
|
|
21. Has he/she contributed to your general knowledge or to learning job skills?
|
| not really, but the quickbooks program helped me to learn job skills, not the instructor herself. |
| The class did, however the instructor basically graded the assignments and gave feedback no sooner than 2 weeks after the assignments were submitted. |
| Absolutely. The skills I've gained through this course will help me greatly in the future. |
| Yes, she has. The textbook itself helped in setting up new businesses. |
| No. I really feel like i didn't learn anything in this class. |
| yes |
| Yes |
| This course has taught me valuable information about Quickbooks which can be a valuable program in a business/accounting setting. |
| Yes, she did. I learn a lot. |
| Yes. This classes was very informative and with a great instructor that was always available, it made it a lot easier. |
|
|
22. Other comments:
|
| this course should be done in a classroom or the instructor should be more clear with step by step instructions on how to back up, and how to submit work. Mr. Peralto was very clear when i took ACC 155 Spreadsheets in Accounting. This course should be similar to that or else it should be on campus. |
| Thank you so much Professor Lally for everything!!!! |
| Not so easy to compare in-class and on-line instructional activities. |
| Mrs. Lally as mentioned about really gave more than a 100% to her students who were confused. This was an extra hard semester for me with having the pressure of graduation. My mom passed away earlier this year so I missed around a couple of weeks of class work, then I had a major stress a few weeks ago with major migraine headaches and missed a couple of weeks of doing my textbook exercises. Mrs. Lally has been very patient with me and always answers my e-mails and gives me good advice.
In my opinon, she is an excellent instructor. |
| She also made a comment about STARS in our class, it meant that several students in the class were doing really good. It made the rest of us feel dumb. She listed their names out and pointed out if we need help, we should contact them. She is the teacher she is supposed to help us. She fails to help, she only tells us to read the textbook. Other students were also confused so i know it wasn't only me. |
