| I've used materials from this class to construct guides to assist me and my
staff with making culturally informed decisions on recruiting, engaging, and
conducing interviews/assessments for a longitudinal study. |

specific cultural focus each week for our discussions/posts. |

15. What did you find least valuable and helpful about the course?
|
| Professor didn't have much interaction throughout the semester as far as discussions. |
| Laulima is painfully slow. On several occassions, Laulima removed text from
discussion boxes and made me resubmit my work. Also, it would have been
helpful to provide stricter parameters to students on critiquing each other's
work. |
| Dr. Roberts was not very involved in the course, as she had us read the
material she told us to and formulate our own questions to ask one another.
She would check in once in a while, but she was largely absent from the
class. Also, the instructions regarding the assignments were not quite clear,
and she often times assumed that we would know what to do on our own. Some
of the readings for the course were not very relevant to the topics, and upon
doing independent research on a topic, more relevant resources could be
found. The course would have been a lot better if Dr. Roberts provided her
own experience and knowledge to us students rather than have us read a bunch
of articles that aren't very relevant. |
| I really dislike group projects, and especially in an online class. I've had enough real world
experience in working with groups; I don't need contrived projects to gain this "real world
experience." |

| The case study was challenging, but it taught me a lot about the particular
culture that I was to write about. |

| I liked the forum structure - especially that we had set days of the week to respond with a question
/ response. This created an ongoing weekly dialogue. |

| The debate assignment needed to be explained better. The instructions were unclear and the work distributed among the different "teams" was unfair. There needs to be a better set of instructions and procedures with the debate assignment if it is used again in the future. |
| Dr. Roberts was incredibly accessible by email and through Laulima. I always knew that when I had a
question, she would respond to it immediately. |
