13. What did you like about this course, such as activities, projects, assignments, etc.?

The instructors have a lot of experience in music, I like their teaching style, they are very knowledgable

I enjoyed every activity we did in that class. Having to play the 'ukulele and sing songs was awesome! :)

The activities we did was well done. Had to play ukulele in front of a crowd at HCC Fair.

The two days of learning to play the ukulele and learning the new Hawaiian songs from different islands was amazing and wonderful. Classes like this should be continued.

This course is great. I really enjoyed.

I liked how sean was able to loan us our own ukulele.

14. Any suggestions to improve this course?

I would not improve anything except that it should of been longer!

Before we separte each group for singing, we should sing all of Hawaiian song. Because some people doesn't know Hawaiian words, if you do, we won't be waste of time... I'd like to sing and play ukulele more.

shorter classs time. have somthing for beginer ukulele students dont make us play a song on the first day.

This class was really fun. I hope this class would become regular class.

I enjoyed this class tremendously! I wish it was longer then two days! It ended so quickly, just when I was having so much fun. I learned alot about the 'Ukulele and its origin. I have been playing the 'ukulele since! I would take this class over and over again! Mahalo Sean for your fun activities and your willingness and patience with us novice 'ukulele players! :)

I would make shirts/stickers for the classmates to represent this class.

just more of the same. Sean inspires us and created an intense desire in me to learn more and do more of these kind of classes and huakaÃ¿is

I would have more field trips and more speakers!! Because thats how I learn best is by watching, listening and then doing.

20. What do you think of the teacher and his/her teaching methods?

I think that Sean has a lot of knowledge to share about archaeology, special places in HawaiÊ»i, and legalities pertaining to them. He is very inspirational and provides a good foundation for anyone living here or wanting to learn about HawaiÊ»i.

The different variety of instructional techniques(powerful guest speakers who are up to date)used and the methods (Huakai's)to present course material were more than appropriate for this class. Not only was this a hands on type of class, but to see wellknown lectures, was awesome.

Sean rocks! this was the best class. keep us out of the classroom and visiting more cultural sites. this is how i learn, really learn. All classes should be like this one!

I really liked that we had a diverse variety of guest speakers come into the classroom and share their personal experiences that were related to the subject matter that were were covering. It helped me to see the perspectives of others and also how to deal with diverse perspectives. I also enjoyed the many class discussions that we had. It is nice to hear how my peers are dealing with such drastic cultural changes in Hawai'i. I hope that the conversations never stop, they are helpful and many young Hawaiians like my self need the opportunity to discuss and share our mana'o with each other.

21. Has he/she contributed to your general knowledge or to learning job skills?

Yes very much. The information that I learned in his class helped me understand more about laws, wahi pana, and opposing opinions concerning archaeology. The experiences that we all shared on the field-trip will never be forgotten.

Ansolutely. Sean has shown me that there is a way to make positive changes whether on a small scale or on a large scale. This class has taught me to pay attention to what is and is not occuring in my community. This class has shown me how I can begin to make changes first with my self and with my community from a perspective of a Kanaka. This class has also taught me that just because I am trying to succeed in a western world, that does not mean that I need to abandon the traditions and customs of a kanaka Hawaii rather I can use both to help me succeed even further in todays society.

I think this class is good because before this I didnÊ»t understand anything about archaeology in HawaiÊ»i and now I do.

I thought he was fair. Proved helpful website, resources, handouts, and knowledgable guest speakers.

seems kind of new to the teaching thing and will get better with time. Guest speakers were great. He could probably share more of his mana`o, instead of relying on others so much.

Oh, yes. I never knew Hilo has so much wahi panas until this class. Infact, I never knew this whole island had so much to precious resources which needs to be protected, so it will be here for the next seven generations.Gosh, this class was the bomb.

Go on more field trips. It gives the students a better understanding of obstacles and triumphs of cultural resource management.

Absolutely, I now see that cultural resource management is a sometimes harsh and difficult job. There are a lot of obstacles that sometimes hinders the progress of this occupation.
