9. Which aspects of the course did you like the best?
I liked how he related things to real life situations and he never did make the class fall asleep!
This course was one that I saved for last because I was terrified of Chemistry after struggling with it a lot in High School. I wish I could share my experience with everyone because Mr. Ashburn is hands-down a gifted teacher. He is absolutely amazing and his passion for the subject is easy to see. Because he understands the material so well, he is able to break it down into short cuts or different perspectives to help students learn. He has given me the confidence to continue on in the medical field and no longer be afraid of Chemistry. He sometimes gets our work back to us within the same day and he is always available for questions or emails. I have nothing but wonderful things to say and I hope he knows that by his fun attitude and great teaching skills he is changing lives.
Instructor had a good sense of humor. He also used real-world examples.
I enjoyed his lectures because he always made them interesting & never a dull moment!
Professor Ashburn was extremely organized and thorough. He presented the material in a very interesting way that made me want to learn and come to class and was also helpful in retaining the material. I look forward to taking other classes from him. Love that he does concept checks and walks around the class to ensure that everyone is doing it correctly. Great study guides. Overall, the best professor I have ever had.
I liked how Professor Ashburn allowed the students to interact with each other when it came to solving in class problems and questions. It gave me the opportunity to learn and view things from the different perspectives of my peers.
I liked every bit of this course. I recommend it to everyone who needs this course.
the best thing that I like in this course was the professor was very helpful and answer all the question very clear.
I like the podcasts because it really helped me to learn
The podcasts were the best part of the online course. Prof. Asburn is very thorough with his lessons. They were very informative. He is on point on every aspect of the class. He is especially prompt on responding to emails. Very fair and knowledgeable instructor. One of the best class I've taken.
I liked how he gave out extra credit because it really helped.
I liked everything! Very interesting course once you start paying attention and actually learning the material. Wish I studied harder and earlier in the semester.
I liked learning about chemistry over all.
Dr. Ashburn really seemed to know his stuff. The whole semester is laid out and simple. His material is completely comprehensible, if you do what he assigns. I would definitely take another class from him.I liked the extra credit opportunities, as well as the very structured format. His lectures are humerus and easy to understand.
You gave a lot of examples through the podcasts which made it sort of easy to answer the ones given on our homework assignments.
I really liked the videos that he provided for his online course. Instead of being like most online courses, he actually taught a lesson as if we were actually live in his class. He was very organized when it came to modules and problem sets. Also, even though I signed up for his online course, he always made it available to come sit into his live class, and also go to him for help.
the podcasts make it very easy to follow along
The podcasts were wonderful; I loved having a lecture that I could listen and rewatch if I had any questions. The podcasts were wonderfully clear, spoken in simple terms so they were easy to understand, and had great examples! I loved the sample problems because they especially helped in understanding and clarifying the material. The teacher's voice was also animated and made learning the material much funner! The tests were not easy, but if you studied the material and did the homework, then I felt you were fine. The level of difficulty is very appropriate.
I really enjoyed learning from the podcasts. Professor Ashburn's technique of teaching was very well organized and understandable. This was my third time retaking biochemistry and I feel like the material of the course was taught so clear to me this time. The material taught was broken down and the analogies were extra helpful I really enjoyed doing homework that I understood!
I like the online class because it gives me time flexibility and to study on my own pace. I also like the interactivity among the students and Dr. Ashburn in discussing the subject areas.
The homework
The discussion forum was awesome!! It allowed all of us to post questions, talk directly to Dr. Ashburn, and I felt like I would always get a timely response. Although this was not the first time using a class discussion forum for me, this was by far the most efficient!
Prof. Ashburn did a really great job with this being an online course. The podcasts felt made learning the material much easier.
Podcasts
He made the material easy to learn. He put it in everyday terms for his example which helped to understand a lot better.
Dr. Ashburn is an excellent professor and provided me with one of the best learning experiences throughout my college career. Dr. Ashburn was always available/easily accessible to answer questions/discuss the subject matter. This course was put together in a VERY ORGANIZED manner which helped me stay on track and not get behind. Being that Dr. Ashburn assigns one assignment per week along with an online lecture (with accompanying lecture notes), it provides students with a weekly routine, which helps us to stay on track. If you want to learn about Biochemistry, Dr. Ashburn will provide every student with the tools/resources necessary to succeed, and more. If you follow his directions, and make use of what is provided, your learning experience will be very positive and rewarding!
I like that he made it easier for the people who learn better through listening by posting the lectures.
The podcasts were very helpful and highlighted important concepts. Professor Ashburn spoke very clearly and his examples were excellent and humorous.
I thought Dr. Ashburn's podcast were very helpful.
I like the use of podcast to show powerpoints on what to learn and study. Very organized indeed.
online quizzes
Everything. The course was very organized. Professor Ashburn provided multiple resources to further enhance understanding. The communication was quick and Professor Ashburn was always available to help.
Doing Homework, As long as we do our hw and showing our work even if it was wrong or right we still get the full credit for it
The instructor's podcasts are very helpful!
10. Which aspects of the course did you like least?
I wish there were a little more extra credit offered.
Cant say there is anything. nothing but good things to say.
Most of the course grade was based on just two exams and the final exam. This might reflect genuine learning better than an accumulation of small assignments and smaller unit tests, but it's nerve-wracking.

That exams had to be taken at LCC.
Well, maybe it was just a misunderstanding on my part or a lack of "searching around" but before an exam, I was always thinking "Did I do this right on my homework assignments? I need to get the concept down to make sure I understand it on the exam" I wasn't sure until AFTER exam 2 that the homework answers could be found on the module (home) page. My mistake. Maybe it would be good to make that clear-er next time for future students? Maybe I would have understood the material more.
Nothing really, maybe just that getting answers wrong on your exams brings down your grade a lot since each multiple question is 2pts each, but he does give a lot of extra credit opportunities.
nothing really
I disliked the fact that I had to travel to farther campuses to take my tests. I wished that it was possible to arrange tests elsewhere (such as UH Manoa) for example. But yeah, that's pretty much it!
There was honestly nothing I did not like. This course was very informative and educational.
Hmmmm, I would say that the weekly problem sets would be my east favorite but just because I tend to cram and do homeworks on the last minute.

Sometimes it's difficult to get a response when you need it. It isn't because of the teacher. It's because of the conflicting schedules and when I'm able to go online.
I wish I took it in class because I would have loved to listen to the lectures in person but i couldn't. He online was still good though

12. Other comments:
Instructor could do more demonstrations of chemical processes (SHOW a chemical reaction); could also use more objects to illustrate concepts, like models of atoms and molecules.
He has a great sense of humor and uses modern technology to make his lectures very interesting. He also keeps his students involved in the lectures.
Professor Ashburn is by far the best professor I have had in my college career. He makes the material 'easy' and interesting and doesn't just lecture at you. He truly cares about his students and helped me to earn an A in his class.
Professor Ashburn is an example of an excellent Professor. He provided opportunity of extra credit and time where we could meet with him if any questions were to arise.
no comment. I hope Prof. Ashburn keep his good work and help some more student. God bless!
This is a great course. The teacher is fair and very nice. He answered questions that students had. Very helpful. I would definitely recommend him
Keep up the good teaching :)
Good Job
Thanks for the great semester Dr. Ashburn! I've learn a great deal about biochemistry, and will continue to apply it!
It's a good class. Everyone thought I was crazy for taking a science course online but I learned a lot through your podcasts.
The analogies used were very helpful and it made the course enjoyable! Your technique of teaching, especially for an online science class was excellent! Great semester.
Dr. Ashburn is a very good and knowledgeable Biochemistry teacher. I also liked that he had video podcasts of every chapters. It's like actually sitting in class.
I really enjoyed this course. I think the material was presented in an understandable way and enjoyable way. Dr. Ashburn was fun and always gave life examples.
I recommend him for other students.
I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Ashburn's course to my peers. I learned so much in this course, which helped me develop greater confidence in my abilities regarding chemistry, and as a future contributing member of the healthcare community. Thank you Dr. Ashburn for a great semester!
Professor Ashburn is an excellent professor. He is very helpful. Though its an online class, Professor Ashburn was always in communication with the class and he made it seem like you weren't taking this class online. Overall positive online experience.
Mr. Ashburn is one of the coolest teacher!
Very organized and clear instructor.

14. Which aspects of the course did you like the best?
Podcast lectures Doing homework in class and ask question if needed Using extra credit upon exam
I like that the reading was accompanied by podcasts which explain the material in greater detail.
What I liked the best about this course is the way that Ashburn assigned homework. Each week was ten problems, and within those ten problems it really helped me understand the chapters. Also, I liked how during class period we would do homework. While during homework and came upon a question I didn't quite understand, it was really helpful that Ashburn is there to help me. And another thing is the podcast were online because I would watch the podcast before class and do the homework in class. Then if I had any questions, I would ask him.
I really enjoyed the online lectures, it really made it easy to just go back and review anything that i missed or did not understand.
Podcasts helped a lot whenever I missed a class session.
The weekly podcasts are very organized and direct to the point. The discussions apply principles to situations in everyday life.
I liked that our lectures were given via podcasts, making it easier to take notes. We could pause and rewind lectures to better understand the material without disrupting the other students.
Watching podcasts at home and doing homework during class helped me be on top of things. I liked that if I didn't understand a problem he was there to help me right away!
I liked that we go to watch the podcasts online and then come to class with any questions that we were unclear about. I liked that we could do homework in class because it gave me an oppurtunity to ask for help.
I liked how the lectures were online.
I really like the homework due each week and podcasts (lectures)
Access to podcasts at all times outside of meeting times.
I really liked the podcasts. It gave me the opportunity to learn the material at home and do the homework in class so that if I had any questions, I could have face-to-face help with it. Learning the material at home gave us the opportunity to have class time to ask whatever questions, rather than spending class time learning the material and having limited time to ask questions.
I really liked that all lectures were posted in Laulima that way I could watch them at my convenience and rewatch them if needed.
what I like about this course is having the lectures available online, so we are able to refer back to it.
the way he held his class, Powerpoint lectures and in class work. the in class work really helped me learn because you can ask questions and do your work at the same time. most times your at home with questions and they cant be answered until the homework is due.
having the lesson be teach online web cam.
i liked how it was both online and in class.
I LIKED THAT LECTURES WERE DONE ONLINE, I THOUGHT THAT WAS VERY INTERESTING AND CONVENIENT. THEN COMING TO CLASS TO DO THE HOMEWORK SO THE STUDENTS COULD HELP EACH OTHER OUT AND ASK QUESTIONS IF NEEDED. I ALSO LIKED HOW WE HAD REVIEW BEFORE THE EXAMS SO EVERYONE CAN UNDERSTAND THE LESSONS BEFORE THE EXAM DATE.
I liked everything!
the entire online class is great, from the discussion forum to submitting assignments to taking exams.
podcasts made me feel like i was in class. instructor is smart, helpful, down to earth, and makes difficult material very easy to understand. extra credit opps throughout the semester. study guides given for exams.
I love extra credits.. I enjoyed the science fair to earn extra credit.... i enjoy learning the podcast as well because it helps me with my homework.
It was easy to follow instructions on what to do. Also I liked the fact that there was a specific place we can ask for help and if anyone else needed the same help they could see the solution to the problem.
How each work load and assignment were spread out evenly to make the work load a lot less stressful.
I loved that everything was clear and the curriculum is well spaced that it benefits the learning process. I was able to understand the concepts well. I liked that the teacher was available to answer questions even if it is not a face to face course.
The video podcasts.
That this class was online.
The discussions and extra credit.
An aspect I liked about the course was that it was online. This is my first online class that I've done and probably will be the last. It was very tough for me to work by myself and to think that I do not have help right there and then. But if you are the type that loves online class, it is okay. You must have the knowledge of teaching yourself though.
Podcasts, and examples did help out a lot. Where as, other teachers don't go out of their way to do that for online classes.
I liked that all the course material was exactly as Dr. Ashburn said it would be from the beginning. All the assignments were hard, as to be expected of a course like this, but everything was thoroughly explained by the professor.
I enjoyed the podcasts, especially since this is an online class, they helped to tie everything together.
Everything I just wasn't on my A Game this semester:(
I really enjoyed the online pod casting videos. It allowed me to understand course material and allowed me to review things which I forgot.
I like the lecture that he provided for us through Laulima. I thought that this method helped me in learning better.
The PowerPoints and the examples used in the PowerPoint.
15. Which aspects of the course did you like least?

The math portion. I wish that it problems were demonstrated in class, especially the ones with more than one step.
There's nothing that I could say that I didn't like because I enjoyed this class.
I disliked how some coursework on the online lectures were difficult to understand.

Having to take your test between 8am-4pm. It would have been more appropriate to have it be a proctored online test being that it was an online distance learning class. The whole reason I am taking a distance learning class was because of time constraints.
Lease aspect was a little bit of the communication. Being on a online class is tough. You must teach yourself the topics and when you need help, you have to either email the professor or your peers.
Multiple choice exams
Honestly just the level of difficulty, but that's to be expected in a BIOC course. Nothing was unlikeable about the class itself or the professor.

Dr. Ashburn provides excellent examples and lecture in class if needed. MAinly his class is self-assessed by doing all your homework and give the student the opportunity to ask questions and work independently.
I would totally recommend Ashburn to anyone who is planning to take his class. Very helpful and really knows his stuff. (:
Dr. Ashburn knows what he is doing in class as a Biochemistry professor.
Other students should take this class, it's a tough course, but professor ashburn makes it simple and easy to overcome.
I really enjoyed this class and it also helped me with my NLN Exam. I also really liked this instructor, he was very helpful and encouraging.
Veryy good course. Highly recommended.
Dr. Ashburn is a really great professor, he is really helpful. I would definitely recommend him to other students.
Excellent course and teacher!
i really enjoyed this class! the way it was taught helped me by 1 billion times! i wish every class was like this, i would pass all my classes. please have all classes taught exactly like this!
THIS WAS ACTUALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE CLASSES :) THIS CLASS WAS VERY CHILL TOO, DR. ASHBURN, YOURE A GREAT TEACHER, THANKS FOR A WONDERFUL SEMESTER. SEE YOU AGAIN NEXT SEMESTER FOR BIOCHEM 251. I ALREADY KNOW THAT IM GOING TO LIKE THE CLASS :)
I found that I have only used the podcasts that was available twice which was in the beginning of the semester class. It was very informative, but I felt I learned better from reading out of the textbook. When I went back to the podcasts, it was pretty much reading the book except on video. So, I kept my head in the textbook and find that useful.
best online course iʻve ever taken to date! highly recommended!
Great teacher, great class...
Taking this course was very helpful to my other studies! I used alot of what we learned in my other classes =) Thank you!!
Dr. Ashburn is awesome!
I would definitely recommend this course to whoever needs it!
It would be nice to have a podcast review before exams.
Professor Ashburn knows what he is doing, but just getting the course topics in your head is very hard. All science, medical field majors, I highly recommend him as a professor, but rather do this class in a regular sit in class so you can ask questions on the topics you need help on.
I am taking Dr. Ashburn next semester for BIOC 251, and would highly recommend him to anyone that needs to take this course. He is extremely quick to respond to emails and very flexible to meeting hours for help. Fantastic professor!
Professor Ashburn answered all questions and returned our material/tests/etc in a very, very timely manner which really helped in the online environment!
I wish there was an extra credit opportunity because I missed a couple homework assignments. Perhaps earn +1 pt for a non-assigned homework problem, or demonstrate knowledge of a criteria through submission of 1/2 page paper including an example.
Really enjoyed this online class. Organization of this online course was extremely good.

I like how he had lectures done to watch online. I've been taking online courses for about 3 years and never had an online lecture video done.
I loved how Professor Ashburn was always willing to help. Very good class!
The podcasts were so great - loved being able to replay them as much as I needed to, so I could understand the material
The aspect of the course that I liked best was the podcasts, having discussion forums, and lectures that I could print.
The way that Dr. Ashburn set up internet classes were awesome. Very clear and concise.
I liked watch podcast. It was clear and helpful.
This was the most interactive online class that I've ever taken and it helped my learning immensely. Dr Ashburn is an excellent instructor and provides us with the visual tools that are also needed in a class. The podcasts were the most helpful and I don't think I could have done as well in this class without them. The fact that he encouraged all the students to be teachers as well was great. I realized that we are all teachers in our own way and when someone expressed how they came to a conclusion that was quite often what made things click for me.
Very straight forward and clear, presentation jived with was was to be learned nothing was a secret!!!
I like the fact that its an online atmosphere and it was quick to get response from classmates. even though Dr.Ashburn responded quickly the classmates were able to help out as well.
I liked how it was really organized and easy to navigate throughout the course site. Professor Ashburn had us to homework and progress checks which were like quizzes and I having these assignments helped me learn the material better and kept me on schedule and studying. Professor Ashburn was also helpful with having podcasts explaining the material and being able to help us through the discussion forum.
The online discusssion with peers and Ashburn. Very convenient.
Being able to communicate with fellow classmates and Mr. Ashburn.
This class was one of my best online classes that I've taken. I was apprehensive in taking an online chemistry class, but Profesor Ashburn explained each concept extremely well, and put them into real fife settings so we could grasp the tough topics.
I really liked Professor Ashburn's podcast and slides.Content was covered well and to the point which made material easy to comprehend.
I know that I learned a lot this semester, but it didn't feel like it because the way that the material was presented, explained, and organized made the subject so simple and easy to tackle. I loved the way the professor taught.
I liked how there were no surprises. You knew exactly what was going on each week. I also like how he encourages us to communicate with our online classmates because a lot of times it helped with homework assignments. It was nice to also know I wasn't the only one having some difficulty with particular assignments. The podcasts were extremely helpful. I'm the type that likes to have to professor explain to me more clearly what the topic is all about. After watching them, it really helped me understand everything better.
Podcasts and discussion forum with both professor and students
I really enjoyed the podcasts and was able to watch them at your own leisure.
14. Which aspects of the course did you like least?
none
Actually there was none. Everything was great.
Having a time limit on the progress checks.
The only thing I didn't like was the fact that I couldn't watch his videos on my iPhone. Besides that, his weekly online lecture were perfect.
I wish i would take this coure in the campus. That way i would do communitate dirrectly with people. However i enjoyed this online course.
Biochemistry is a lot of information to take in especially in one semester
Everything was fine, the only thing I personally had trouble with sometimes was the points for the discussion forum, just because I had nothing to say or I was ashamed to mention something. But it was good that we had the discussion forum for points because it helped me get involved and know learn the material a little better.
I didn't like that the progress checks were only 30 minutes. It takes a long time to figure out what formula to use and you want to make sure you're doing it correctly because its worth 20 pts. Also, the mole to mole to molar mass conversion factors are killerz!
deadlines. Not that anyone likes those either.
The fact that Biochem 251 isn't online!
Nothing I thought it was great..
I was saddened to hear that the second biochemistry course was not offered online, but other than that, I have absolutely no complaints from this class.
Honestly, there really isn't anything I could say that I disliked. He put a lot of effort into making this class easier or more comprehensible.
I didn't enjoy a lot of the interaction of the class online because for me im more shy and not willing to post how i solved a problem because i feel it might have been wrong. Not real confident on the answers, also i feel weird interacting like that online through a forum. But i understand why it was there.

I would recommend this class to everyone. Science was not a subject that came easily to me - and I thought doing this online would make it more difficult, but the tools are provided by Professor Ashburn so that you will succeed, as long as you are willing to do your part and put the work in.
Great Professor! I would recommend him to any student who is interested in taking a biochemistry class.
Thank you very much professor Ashburn. I really enjoyed this course and podcast was very good for me to understand. It made materials easier and i could know figure out what is important for the chapter. Also thank you for the encouragement.
I have to admit I was not looking forward to taking this class but in the end I enjoyed it most out of all my classes and this was because of the excellent teaching skills of Dr Ashburn.

Professor is a very good teacher. He makes chemistry fun like how he said in the beginning of the course. I like his you tube videos that he posts. Very interesting and able to relate it with real life.
Very good teacher, knows material very well and very understanding to students needs. Always willing to help and offer extra credit activties that invovlved helping the community as well.
As stated earlier, this has been one of my best online learning experiences.
I really enjoyed this online class, it made me interact with other students online which I normally wouldn't have..Also the forum was great for getting help from others especially since classmates actually participated..Great class now you need to work on getting 251 online that would be awesome...
The only reason why I simply agreed instead of strongly agreed to questions 9 and 11 is really because I thought the class was quite simple, and that we were rewarded greatly for what seemed like simple work. This is definitely credit to professor, and I would just want to say I think highly of him, and thank him for his time and help this semester :) I thoroughly enjoyed this class.
Great teacher! I would definitely recommend him for students looking to take this class.
Great course! Real great teacher, knowledgeable and very active with the students. Learned a lot and got interested in BioChem.

7. What did you find most valuable and helpful about the course?
The most valuable and helpful things about this course is your attendance to class, the power points, study guides, lecture notes, and creating friendships to have study groups are valuable for your success in class.
The practical application of chemistry in real life situation. Actually it is cool to know that life is actually all about 'chemistry'.
This online course was very well organized. The way it was set up made it very easy to learn the materials.
Podcasts were the biggest help.
The Podcast is what brought the entire lectures together and it made sense.
I really liked how Dr. Ashburn made our class interactive. He taught class through "Podcasts" and even had a place (If needed) for interactive class/tutor time. If only all our classes were that easy. I'm a working mother who wants and needs the education to get ahead. So this class has been awesome!!!
The teacher was very proficient in explaining the material in an easy to understand way. He was also very helpful and this was an enjoyable course to take.
The most valuable and helpful things about this course was the dimension analysis. It is one of the key points to know in getting your equations and answers right.
The professor responds to our concerns & is always involved in the class discussions. The deadlines are the same every week for homework & quizzes, which means I don't have to remember certain dates on top of my other classes. Very enthusiastic teacher (from what i see on the podcasts) :) & I enjoy the podcasts because there a subtle jokes which enlighten the podcasts. He also uses everyday examples to further explain the material, rather than using ONLY the book.
the most valuable and helpful about the course is the interactions with the students using the discussion and professor. the podcast also helped a lot in order to understand the materials in the book. i do the podcast first than i read the book while doing my homework. so it makes perfect sense when doing the homework.
Being able to take our test at home. Makes it much easier for someone with kids at home during the day and work at night.
This course helped me better understand other classes I was taking. I understood the chemistry part of my microbiology class I was also taking. The course also help me with simple calculations I know I need to know for my future career.
his pod casts and class discussions.
Discussion forums and podcasts helped a lot!!!
I enjoyed the course.
Being that I am pursuing Nursing, the entire course was valuable to me! I found that the podcast were extremely helpful in understanding the lessons in each module.
It explained things clearly, and assignments were straightforward. no guess work involved.
I found that it's important to truly understand how Chemistry plays an important role in our everyday life.
Even though it was an online class, everyone was so helpful in the class and so interactive. We were eager to learn and help each other learn. Professor Ashburn was not only a great professor, he gave us a lot of information through examples and videos pertaining to chemistry that made learning chemistry fun.
The way Prof. Ashburn used Laulima and connected with his students was the most thorough job I have seen online so far. He made the course material interesting even more so than many of my at campus teachers.
I really values the fact that i can fast-foward, rewind, pause, and replay the podcast. The fact that i was able to do that really help me better understand the material being taught. Its the best leaning tool thus far.
Professor Ashburn's online lectures were interesting and kept my attention to learn the class material.

20. What did you like most about your online course experience?
This was not an online course.
I am not taking this class online but in the classroom every TR 9-1015. Anyways, Prof. Ashburn is a very talented and intellectual person. Chemistry is a hard subject but he tried his best to present the concepts in minced parts so we can fully grasp the idea. He has a very good use of powerpoint and other technology which i think were very helpful in facilitating learning.
I liked the fact that everything was so organized. The podcasts were clear and made material that would normally be confusing, very interesting and understandable. I liked the fact that the professor had a sense of humor in his podcasts and a personality that made the class fun. Out of my several semesters at Leeward, this class would be in my top 3 favorite classes I've taken thus far.
The syllabus was followed throughout the whole semester and everything was easy to find and clearly explained.
I liked the way Professor Ashburn put everything together which made it flow smooth all the time. He pretty much spelled everything out in the modules; what to do first, second and third. After reading the material then watching the podcast everything made sense most of the time and when there was something questionable there was always our classmates willing to help each other out. Making weekly chats helped everyone in the class get to know each other which made asking questions not as shame as usual.
i love that online courses are getting more available and flexible for the working class people.
As this course only being the one I took, the experience was great. Everything was all scheduled and organized with homework materials. I really enjoyed the pod casts which was one of the main things that help me understand the material even more.
It was very similar to in-class courses, because he has podcasts where he takes the time to explain everything, just as a professor would in class. He always explains "difficult" material in a way that the student is able to understand.
the communication with other students and the podcast because it is my very first time using and learning from a podcast. i never used it before and enjoy watching the podcast, its much easier and i can review it anytime of the day.
I hesitated taking BIOC 241 ONLINE, but it wasn't like we didn't have class. Watching the podcast was like going to class... my classmates were very helpful.. we really used the discussion board. I say this is by far the best online class I have ever taken. Highly recommended...
that he was always available and responds quickly to emails. he has a very organized website (laulima)
forums were a good way to connect with everyone in class and also helped when questions came up
The pace, the way the teacher provided the material.
I liked that everything was either easy to understand, and/or explained clearly! I didn't feel like I was being rushed through the semester, or any lessons, for that matter. I was able to work at a fair and steady pace.
Convenient. No time constraints -- as opposed to those on campus.
The communication and positive inputs from the students and the professor. The participation of everyone was encouraging.
It was my first online course and I loved it...He was very helpful and I enjoyed watching his podcasts
I didn't think online course was going to be this interactive but this online course was a pleasant surprise as to it felt like i was actually in a real class.
The podcasts he used were top notch and professional. Not only did he show the material and narriate as he went through each problem.
same answer as previously stated
Being able to watch class lecture pretty much on your time, which is convenient for my time schedule with work and my other classes.
21. Other comments:
I appreciate Professor Ashburn's enthusiasm for teaching. He really made improvements in his way of teaching so that students could understand and relate better to the content. He is a great teacher that wants his students to succeed in their chosen field and college career.
Keep it up...especially the cool powerpoints and slide!
This was the best online class I have taken so far and I've been in school for 2 years now. Other online courses should take notes from Professor Ashburn and I'm sure the learning experience for online courses will be much better and not a waste of time.
Dr. Ashburn has been great, he really makes you want to learn the material and love it! We feel through him and he loves his work. He does a great job, alot of people would benefit from him and will take on the information and use it in our daily lives.
One of the fun classes I've took! =)
This is my first online course & I am very impressed. The class is just like an in-class lecture because there are podcasts that are made in the way a professor would teach in a classroom.
GReat class... great teacher!
Class was tough, but the professor helped make things easier to understand through his podcasts
The class was awesome and the instructor did a wonderful job.
I would strongly recommend that if anyone wanted/needed to take BIOC241, you should definitely take Bradley Ashburn's class!! Professor Ashburn is very clear, and equally fair about what he expects throughout the course. He also gives his students an ample, yet sufficient amount of time to complete assignments and exams. I didn't feel rushed or stressed at any time during this course. I also felt that Professor Ashburn was extremely approachable!
Bradley Ashburn, I highly recommend students take his courses. He is very helpful and kind :)
