The Educational Technology Program in the College of Education at the University of Hawaii at Manoa is a nationally accredited program. Accreditation is from the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) in association with the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

Aloha, and welcome to the Department of Educational Technology (EdTech) website. EdTech has had its place in the University of Hawaii at Manoa and its College of Education since 1966. The department defines its mission as a commitment to provide a theory and research based yet practical educational and training program designed to improve the processes of instruction and learning.

To achieve the goal, the department:

  1. provides quality courses and relevant experiences;
  2. encourages and expects its students and faculty to engage in meaningful research and other scholarly activities;
  3. promotes professional development of educators in technological applications to instruction.

The department's main target group is post-baccalaureate students committed to the improvement of instruction and learning. For these graduate students, a set of strong objectives has been established, and appropriate activities devised to ensure achievement of high levels of competencies by the program graduates.

ETEC Connections is produced by LEI Aloha, a grant-funded program administered by the Educational Technology Department of the University of Hawaii, Manoa.
