| Committee name: Admissions |

| Description of work done: This committee receives the applications for new student admissions to the EECB program; the committee evaluates the applications, coordinates with the related departments to which the students are also applying, and decides on the students to be admitted into the program. Most of the work for this committee is for the Fall admissions, but there are often 10-15 applications for Spring (these are from students already in a grad program in one of the departments affiliated with EECB). |

| Committee name: Graduate Curriculum |
| |
| Description of work done: Review and update course requirements for EECB students. Keep an eye on new course offerings that may fulfill EECB requirements or be of value to the students |

| Committee name: Graduate Education |
| |
Description of work done: This committee oversees student progress. First year students meet with this committee at least once during the year of admission, and more often as needed. Once students have formed their thesis/dissertation committees this committee carries out general oversight on student progress, coordinating with the student’s committee to insure both departmental and EECB program requirements are taken care of.
A major task of this committee is to make sure that all EECB students have their three courses listed on the form in their file. The more complicated situations arise when the students need to make a substitution. These changes need to be approved by the Graduate Education Committee and the approval noted on the student forms. |

| Description of work done: This committee receives and evaluates student grant applications for the various grants awarded through by EECB, and makes funding decisions. |

| Committee name: Faculty Admissions and Retention |
| |
| Description of work done: This committee receives new EECB faculty applications and decides whether to invite an applicant to give an Evolunch talk and to have the faculty vote on faculty admission. The committee also makes decisions about whether to renew or not renew a faculty member’s EECB appointment |
