Biological Safety

Biological Commodities

Biological Commodities that are "regulated" by several international, federal, state requirements and may require permits for movement, importation, and exportation. All requests for the procurement or movement of biological commodities should be authorized by the UH Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) by filing a "Procurment Authorization for Biological Commodities (BSP-2)". In addition, it might also be necessary for first time users of biological commodities to fill out a "Biological Use Authorization and Registration (BSP-1)" as well. If you have questions see the Guidelines for Procurement of "BIOLOGICAL COMMODITIES". If you require more information, please contact the Biological Safety Program at 956-3197 (voice), 956-3205 (FAX) or biosafe@hawaii.edu (email).
