Environmental Compliance Public Involvement & Participation

 
The Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP) Team members and their general roles and responsibilities are described in the SWMP section 2.

While overall compliance is monitored by the Environmental Compliance Program, the SWMP Team functions as a whole to ensure permit conditions are continually met.

Communication between the Environmental Compliance Program and various SWMP Team Members occurs frequently and enables the following:

  • Detection of active and/or potential illicit discharges;
  • Discussion (and necessary correction) of planned activities involving outdoor water use;
  • Construction, repair and maintenance project review;
  • Correction of non-compliance reported or observed during inspections;
  • Training and information sharing;
  • Meeting with contractors to review project-specific erosion and sediment controls; and,
  • Scheduling of meetings to discuss SWMP updates and other concerns.
