An accredited, intensive English language preparation for students who wish to enter an American university or college, as well as those who wish to acquire English for personal or professional development. Classes are small and every student receives individual attention. Basic courses include up to four levels of reading, writing, listening/speaking, and grammar. In addition, elective courses are offered in TOEFL preparation, and English conversation. Students meet with native English speakers once a week in our Conversation Lounge. Every session there is at least one classroom activity to connect the students with the community. The students can also participate on Saturday trips around the Big Island.
Length of Term: 8 weeks
Calendar: January, March, June, August, and October
Average Class Size: 4 to 15 students
Program Size: 25 to 35 students

Status of Positions: Part time
Required Qualifications:
1) M.A. degree in TESOL or a related degree
2) Some ESL teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications:
1) M.A. degree in TESOL or applied linguistics
2) Five years ESL teaching experience
Usual Contract Period: By session
Teaching Load: 1-3 core classes, elective classes also possible
