The College Preparatory Program is an innovative curriculum designed for non-native English speaking students who may lack the necessary skills to immediately pursue an Associate in Arts degree at HTIC. The CPP prepares students to successfully complete American college-level courses as it strengthens their communication skills in English.
Length of Term: 10 weeks
Calendar: Winter (January); Spring (April); Summer (July); Fall (September)

Program Size: 50
Categories of Positions: Coordinator, Full-time Instructors, Adjunct Instructors.
Status of Positions:
Required Qualifications: Full-time Instructors must have an MA in ESL. Adjuncts should at least be working towards a degree.
Preferred Qualifications: MA in ESL
Usual Contract Period: 10 weeks for Adjuncts; 2 years for full-time faculty.
Salary/Wage Range: $35/hr for Adjuncts; Full-time faculty to be negotiated.
Benefits: Full-time faculty receive health and retirement.
Teaching Load: Full-time faculty teach 14 contact hours per week.
Types of Courses: English foundation courses which are linked to a content class. ESL electives for various English skills.
