The MLA International Bibliography is a subject index for books and articles
published on modern languages, literatures, folklore, and linguistics. It
is produced by the Modern Language Association (MLA), an organization dedicated
to the study and teaching of language and literature. The electronic version
of the Bibliography dates back to 1963 and contains over 1.6 million citations

of Bibliographic Information Services with the cooperation of more than

The UHM Program in Library & Information Science maintains a collection in Hamilton Library of approximately 7000 volumes of juvenile literature that is used by the school library program, and by the College of Education and the Department of Theatre & Dance. Juvenile literature materials in the general collection consist of approximately 20 active periodical subscriptions as well as many more books and periodicals in Education, Literature, Psychology, and other related fields.
English is the primary language of the collection. Works in East Asian and Pacific languages are obtained by and housed in the Asia and Pacific collections. Emphasis is on the 20th century, and primarily on the United States, including Hawaii, as well as Asia and the Pacific.
The Curriculum Resource Center collection is maintained by the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and includes sample elementary and secondary textbooks, AV materials, learning kits, and a children's literature collection.
Note:
The books count was estimated using a shelf-inch measurement. The periodicals
count was calculated by searching the library catalog for children's literature
periodicals.
