Multi-disciplinary full text database containing full text for nearly 4,650 serials, including more than 3,600 peer-reviewed publications. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 8,200 journals.


ERIC via Ebscohost or ERIC via Cambridge Scientific Abstracts
The ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) database is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education to provide extensive access to educational-related literature.


Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts
Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts covers all aspects of the study of language including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. Complete coverage is also given to various fields of linguistics including descriptive, historical, comparative, theoretical and geographical linguistics. PAIS International is an index to the world's public and social policy literature in the fields of business, economics, local and federal government, political science, international relations, finance, and other social sciences. It has references and in some cases abstracts of articles from over 3,660 journal titles, books, gray literature, internet material, conference proceedings, government and ngo documents and statistical publications. 1915-present.


Psycinfo
PsycINFO provides citations and abstracts of international journal articles, chapters, books, technical reports and dissertations in psychology and related disciplines. Produced by the American Psychological Association it covers over 1,400 journals, representing professional and scientific literature from over 50 countries going back to 1872. Chapter and book coverage includes worldwide English language material published since 1987. Use the Find It button to link to fulltext journal articles.


Sociological Abstracts
Sociological Abstracts is an index with abstracts to the literature of sociology from 2,700 journals and other serials, books, dissertations, and conference papers published worldwide. Coverage is from 1963 and includes all facets of sociology and related disciplines including anthropology, criminology, education, law and penology, race relations, social psychology and urban studies. Web of Science
A multidisciplinary index covering the journal literature of the sciences (Science Citation Index Expanded) as well as both the Social Sciences Citation Index and the Arts & Humanities Citation Index. Approximately 70% of the records have author abstracts. Online coverage from 1980 to present.

Dissertations & Theses (PQD&T) includes bibliographic citations for the doctoral and master's work of authors from more than 1,000 graduate schools and universities dating back to 1861. More than 750,000 dissertations and theses from 1997 on have been digitized and are available for PDF download.

About the Second Language Studies Collection

 

Second Language Studies draws on the literature from the disciplines of the humanities and social sciences and the geographic area collections. There is heavy overlap with the literature of education and linguistics. Materials can be found in the General Collections, as well as the Hawaiian-Pacific, Asia, Wong Audio Visual Center, and Government Documents collections.
