ABI/INFORM Global is the premier business and management database providing extensive coverage of North America and the world. Find research on advertising, marketing, economics, human resources, finance, taxation, computers, and more. This ProQuest database indexes about 1,520 journals and includes article full-text for more than 780, many with graphics (full-text available to UH Manoa campus users only). Includes information on 60,000+ companies.

Academic Search Premier
Multi-disciplinary full text database containing full text for nearly 4,650 serials, including more than 3,600 peer-reviewed publications. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 8,200 journals.

 

ArchiText Construction Index Online
ArchiText Construction Index Online is an index to articles in more than 50 architectectural and construction trade journals organized by keywords and by MasterFormat subject headings. An abstract is provided for each article indexed in the most recent year's database.

 

Arts & Humanities Citation Index
Arts and Humanities Citation Index is a multidisciplinary index covering the journal literature of the arts and humanities. It indexes 1,144 of the world's leading arts and humanities journals, as well as covering individually selected, relevant items from over 6,800 major science and social science journals. Coverage from 1980 to present.

 

Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals
Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals is "the nation's most comprehensive listing of journal articles on architecture." It provides citations to articles on the history and practice of architecture, historic preservation, interior design and city planning.

 

CAB Abstracts
CAB Abstracts (1973 to present), produced by CABI Publishing, covers the significant research and development literature in the applied life sciences, including agriculture, forestry, human nutrition, veterinary medicine and the environment. Additionally, CAB Abstracts includes molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, breeding, taxonomy, physiology and other aspects of pure science relating to organisms of agricultural, veterinary or environmental importance. This database offers abstracts and indexing for journals, serial publications, conference proceedings, books, theses, annual reports, patents & standards and dates back to 1973. Coverage is international in scope.

Civil Engineering Database
Civil Engineering Database from the American Society for Civil Engineering (ASCE) provides bibliographic access to all ASCE journals, conference proceedings, books, standards, manuals, magazines, and newsletters published since 1975.

 

Digital Sanborn Maps, 1867-1970 - Hawaii
Digital access to fire insurance maps from various areas in Hawaii. Users have the ability to easily manipulate the maps, magnify and zoom in on specific sections, and layer maps from different years.

 

EconLit
EconLit, published by the American Economic Association, provides bibliographic coverage of a wide range of economics-related literature. An expanded version of the Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) indexes of journals, books, and dissertations, EconLit covers both economic theory and application.

FirstGov.gov, the official U.S. gateway to all government information.

 

GeoBase
GEOBASE is a unique multidisciplinary database supplying bibliographic information and abstracts for human and physical geography, ecology, geology, oceanography, geomechanics and development studies. The database provides current coverage of over 1,700 journals and archival coverage of several thousand additional titles. GEOBASE contains over a million records from 1980, with 72,000 records added annually. Each GEOBASE record contains full bibliographic citation, indexing terms and codes and 99.5% of records contain abstracts.

Hawaii Pacific Journal Index
Hawaii Pacific Journal Index is a Voyager Online Catalog Citation index to nearly 100 journals published in or about Hawaii and covering all subjects. A listing of titles indexed in HPJI is available.

 

Ingenta
Multidisciplinary index to journal articles. The ingenta Library Gateway is a searchable database of more than 11 million citations from over 20,000 journals. The Gateway is a powerful, easy to use service offered by your institution as a means of expanding your access to current, scholarly research.

 

National Trade Data Bank via STAT-USA
STAT-USA is a service run by the US Department of Commerce for the US business, economic and trade community, providing access to Global Business Opportunities & the National Trade Data Bank.

GLOBUS (Global Business Opportunities) offers daily trade leads from the Trade Opportunities Program (TOPS), as well as the Department of Agriculture. GLOBUS also offers daily procurement activity from the Defense Logistics Agency, the United Nations, and the Commerce Business Daily leads.

The NTDB (National Trade Data Bank) provides access to Country Commercial Guides, Market Research reports, Best Market reports and other programs. The International Trade Library is a comprehensive collection of over 40,000 documents related to international trade. All are full text searchable, as well as keyword searchable by country or product.

 

Pacific Business News
Citations and abstracts of articles from Hawaii's business weekly Pacific Business News.

 

PAIS International (Public Affairs Information Service)
PAIS International is an index to the world's public and social policy literature in the fields of business, economics, local and federal government, political science, international relations, finance, and other social sciences. It has references and in some cases abstracts of articles from over 3,660 journal titles, books, gray literature, internet material, conference proceedings, government and ngo documents and statistical publications.

 

ScienceDirect
ScienceDirect from Elsevier is an internet resource for scientific, technical and medical information. Using Science Direct you can access over 1,800 peer reviewed academic journals, search over 30 million abstracts from scientific articles and link out to articles from over 80 other publishers.

 

Social Sciences Citation Index
Social Sciences Citation Index is a multidisciplinary index, with searchable author abstracts, covering the journal literature of the social sciences. It indexes more than 1,725 journals spanning 50 disciplines, as well as covering individually selected, relevant items from over 3,300 of the world's leading scientific and technical journals. Online coverage from 1980 to present.

 

Sociological Abstracts
 Sociological Abstracts is an index with abstracts to the literature of sociology from 2,700 journals and other serials, books, dissertations, and conference papers published worldwide. Coverage is from 1963 and includes all facets of sociology and related disciplines including anthropology, criminology, education, law and penology, race relations, social psychology and urban studies. Over 2,500 new records are added monthly. Access is through Cambridge Scientific Abstracts.

About the Urban and Regional Planning collection

 

The urban and regional planning collection contains approximately 29,000 books and many periodicals and other serials supporting interests in urban and regional planning, as well as thousands of other books and journals in related fields. The United States, Asia and the Pacific are emphasized. The Asia Collection and the Hawaiian/Pacific Collection also have a significant amount of material on the sociology of those geographic areas. Government Documents Collection also has much information gathered and published by federal government.
