Overview
What are Technology Intensive Courses?
The Technology Intensive Course project is a UH-wide, federally
funded grant program aimed at integrating technology into courses
at all UH campuses, in all subject areas. The fundamental
characteristic of a Technology Intensive (TI) course is that both
the instructor and their students actively use technology.
TI courses when offered throughout the UH curriculum will give students
the chance to use technology in a variety of contexts, making them
more comfortable and skilled using technology.
Why do Technology Intensive?
For your students! In todays technology rich world our students
should be able to use digital electronic technologies as effortlessly
as pen and paper. Giving your students technology experiences
within your field is one way to provide practice with technology
in a variety of content areas. Your subject area matters!
Integrating technology into your course may help students see your
subject AND technology in a new way.
What is in it for you?
Support Your campus TI facilitator is available to meet
one-on-one with you to help with your individual technology needs.
If youre already using technology or just getting started,
your campus TI facilitator can help both you and your students.

technology equipment such as computers, data projectors, digital
cameras and more

Go at Your own Pace
Technology Intensive Courses has a three tiered system to allow
you to integrate technology at your own pace.
Technology Intensive These courses follow the Technology
Intensive Standards and Guidelines to improve technology literacy
while continuing to emphasize course content. Students have
a high level of involvement using technology, while faculty meet
standards as exemplary role models using technology.
Technology Applied These courses add the use of technology
to the current course structure encouraging students to use technology
resources in their research, communication, and presentations.
The faculty member demonstrates and uses technology in the presentation
of course content and communicates with students electronically.
Technology Enhanced In these courses, the faculty
