Project Overview
ETEC Connections provides educators with resources and ideas for
integrating technology into their curriculum. It ties information
to the Hawaii Content and Performance Standards (HCPS) so that educators
can understand how to meet the standards while utilizing technology.
Why We Exist:
ETEC Connections consists of a series of TV segments profiling teachers
who are successfully using technology while meeting the HCPS. The
segments are tied directly into this website and are shown on the
State of Hawaii's Department of Education School Connections, a
program of Teleschool. Each segment profiles a different educator
from around Hawaii and offers innovative ideas for integrating technology
into curriculum.
What We Do:
This website offers a host of information, tools, resources and
fresh ideas for teachers who are interested in technology integration
and who want to meet the standards. It offers two tracks: Starting
Up for those who are just beginning with technology integration,
and Advancing Skills for those who have been integrating technology,
but need some fresh new ideas. It also contains a section on Getting
Grants and provides a series of links to grants available for Hawaii's
educators and tools for writing grants. In its Learning Tools section,
educators will find links to tutorials and other resources for learning
how to use a variety of software popular with teachers, and the
Meeting Standards link takes educators directly to the HCPS website
for details on standards.
If you know of a teacher doing great things with technology, or
if you just have some terrific ideas you'd like to share, please
email coetech@hawaii.edu.
We'll appreciate your input!
