Association of Educational
Communication and Technology (AECT)
The mission of the Association for Educational Communications and
Technology (AECT) is to provide leadership in educational communications
and technology by linking professionals holding a common interest
in the use of educational technology and its application to the
learning process.
International Society
for Technology in Education (ISTE)
Our mission is to help K-12 classroom teachers and administrators
share effective methods for enhancing student learning through the
use of new classroom technologies.
ERIC's
listing of Educational Technology Associations
The Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC), is a national
education information system sponsored by the Office of Educational
Research and Improvement (OERI) in the U.S.
Department of Education (ED). ERIC is part of the National Library
of Education (NLE). This site offers extensive resources for education.
New
Media Centers
New Media Centers is a non-profit organization that comprises higher
education institututions and innovative technology companies. Both
work together to enhance teaching and learning through new media.
Preparing Tomorrow's
Teachers (PT3)
PT3 is a non-profit organization created by U.S. Department of Education
and Congress. It's mission is to prepare tomorrow's teachers to
use technology for improved teaching and learning. To fulfill this
mission, PT3 awards grants to institutions of higher education.

U.S. Department of
Education (DOE)
The mission of the DOE is to ensure equal access to education and
to promote educational excellence for all Americans. This site is
part of DOE's effort to pursue that mission and help America reach
the National Education Goals. It offers a range and an ever-growing
collection of information about the Department, including: grants,
initiatives, publications, statistics, research and more.
World
Wide Web Consortium (W3C)
W3C is a non-profit organization, comprised government and private
businesses, that work together to develop guidelines for the worldwide
web.

Institute for Learning Technologies
The Institute for Learning Technologies is a non-profit organization
that seeks to lead the effort in improving education through technologies.
It "aims to nurture" the humane application of information
technologies to expand educational opportunity and achievement for
everyone.
Sun SITE
Program
Sun's Software, Informational & Technology Exchange is dedictated
to worldwide education and research. It provides easy access to
free software and tools, acts as a repository for key Sun, local,
and government information, promotes development and research of
new Internet tools, and launches hot new Internet-based applications.

Aloha
Maui High Performance
Computing Center (MHPCC), established in 1994, is one of the
most powerful supercomputing centers in the world. MHPCC collaborates
with the Hawaii educational community to develop programs that prepare
students for the demands of the 21st century.
TeleSchool
Branch of the Hawai`i Department of Education (DOE) is charged
with exploring and developing innovative ways of delivering instruction
throughout the state with technologies such as video conferencing,
cablecast, broadcast and digital video that add to and improve the
quality of instruction.
Hawai`i
Institute for Educational Partnerships (HIEP) exists to facilitate
school renewal in the state by partnering COE, Hawai`i DOE and College
of Arts and Sciences faculty in activities and projects in school
sites. Various teacher education programs that have been relocated
to school sites are a result of HIEP's endeavors.
Epiphany
School is a small private school committed to renewal and reform
of its faculty and curriculum. The school has invested heavily in
placing technology into the classrooms and has employed a technology
coordinator to assist with the technology integration.
The
Technology Learning Center (TLC) is an organization in the College
of Education (COE) that is deeply committed to advancing the integration
of technology in classroom instruction. It's goal is to enhance
learning and promote success for all students. This organization
serves as the hub for equipment and software distribution as well
as a resource for innovative technology applications.
Holomua
Elementary School is a technology-enriched school with state-of-the-art
classrooms and labs, featuring innovations in architectural design
and telecommunications infrastructure. The school presents an excellent
environment for teaching and learning with technology and will serve
as a good model for a 21st century school. Holomua is a partner
school with the COE elementary cohort program. It is host to COE
methods courses, student observations and student teaching.
