STEP TWO: Advancing Skills

Most of the educators we interviewed suggested that learning is key to staying ahead of technology and the standards. Here are a few suggested courses you may want to check into:

T4 - Technology for Tech Coordinators:
T4 is offered by the Hawaii Department of Education and is designed to assist tech coordinators in maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading the information technology infrastructure. T3 - Technology and Telecommunications:
If you haven't already taken T3, the pre-cursor to T4, Technology and Telecommunications for teachers (T3) may be the best place to start! Check out Technology and Telecommunications.

Designing Online Courses:
Designing online courses is offered to prepare teachers who might be interested in becoming E-school teachers. ($300 for DOE teachers, 6PD credits). To get more detailed information and to apply for the above programs, go to the online application site: http://www.k12.hi.us/~tethree

ME.d in Educational Technology at UH:
The University of Hawaii ETEC program offers a comprehensive listing of technology and curriculum development courses. The program provides students opportunities to prepare for professional positions as computer-based learning specialists in school, business, governmental or private environments; as courseware, multimedia or web site developers; or to function within educational or business entities that engage in employee or client training.
