The course is currently operating under the title of Directed Studies
Course. There is no Authorized Course and Code Number (ACCN) number
for the course e-commerce course associated with kahuku.org. Thus,
students earn an elective credit of a directed studies business
course (A directed studies course gives a student credit for their
work in a course and can count in the calculation of credits towards
graduation, but does not meet specific graduation requirements.).
Kahuku High School is working on aligning the curriculum with standards,
and hopes to finish the necessary paperwork for 2003-04 school year.
ASSESSMENT:
Some quizzes are used for assessment, but primarily students are
assessed by overall performance as an employee and the stores success
rates. Students are expected to take the store as serious as a job.
Students are responsible for writing the articles on the site, taking
and uploading new pictures, and editing the on-line catalog. In
addition, students have individual web sites they have created and
are accessible through the school's web site. They must be on-time,
keep productive during class, and contribute to brainstorm sessions.
