| LEARNER OUTCOMES for MODULE I:
Learners will demonstrate knowledge and skill relative to . . .
- telecomunications and the internet as tools for community building, collaborative teaching, and information gathering;
- technology supports for assessment of student learning utilizing multimedia and electronic portfolios;
- technology supports for standards-based, thematic, cross-cultural teaching in literacy and language arts;
- multimedia development supporting literacy and language arts in the classroom, including technical competance with multimedia software and video for the classroom;
- technology integration to support decoding skills, including phonics, sight words, fluency and comprehension.
Learners will . . .
- identify a range of low to high assistive technology
- supports for students with disabilities to access computers and the language arts curriculum, including web-based resources;
- critique commercial software "reading" programs promoting phonics and decoding, including web-based resources for further information;
- describe "career connections" among technologies for the classroom and post-secondary careers and employment opportunities for students;
- demonstrate effective practices to teach the above knowledge, values, and skills to others through a "practicum" experience.
