Disbursement of
Financial Aid
If you have returned your signed
award letter to FAS or accepted your awards online
via your MyUH Portal account, and completed and
processed all required documents (please check your
MyUH portal), these are the financial aid
disbursement procedures.
Please ensure that your
refund/mailing address is updated through MyUH
Portal or at the Admissions & Records office.
These procedures are subject to change.

The Cashier’s Office will apply
your financial aid towards your UHM Tuition, Fees
and Student Housing charges 10 days prior to the
start of the semester,
and all refunds will be mailed to you or directly
deposited into your bank account if you signed up
for e-refund on your MyUH Portal account.

If you made a payment by cash or
check, any residual financial aid monies will be mailed to you or
deposited into your bank account in about
two weeks from the disbursement of your financial
aid. Please
update your refund/mailing address through MyUH
Portal (https://myuhportal.hawaii.edu)
or at Admission and Records QLCSS 001.
Failure to update your refund/mailing
address may delay the delivery of your refund check.

For
recipients of the Perkins, SHEL, Staffords, and Grad
Plus loans, an entrance interview must be completed
and a promissory note signed before your loan is
processed. The
Perkins and SHEL entrance interview packets are
mailed to you. Please
update your mailing address through MyUH Portal.
The Staffords and Grad Plus entrance
interviews are online at:
www.opennet.salliemae.com.
If you will be receiving a
scholarship check from an outside donor (e.g.,
Hawai`i Community Foundation/Harriet Bouslog/Unity
House) and the scholarship is made payable to the
University of Hawai`i at Mānoa only, your
scholarship will be applied towards your UHM
Tuition, Fees and Student Housing charges and all
residual amounts will be mailed to your
refund/mailing address within two weeks.
Failure to update your refund/mailing
address may delay the delivery of your refund check.
If
your scholarship check is a co-payable check made
out to you and the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa,
you may either endorse the
scholarship at the Cashier’s Office and apply it
towards your UHM Tuition, Fees and Student Housing
charges, or if your tuition and fees have already
been paid, the Cashier’s Office will release the
scholarship check to you.
