Applying
for Financial Aid
To be considered for financial aid you must complete the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you are
currently receiving financial aid, you may use the Renewal FAFSA.
On the FAFSA, you should list the University of Hawaii at Manoa,
code number
001610, as one of the schools to
receive your information. You must complete the FAFSA/Renewal
FAFSA via the Internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Our priority deadline is March 1st of every year.
What this means is if you have your FAFSA completed by March 1st
and any supporting documentation submitted to our office by
March 1st, your awards will be in place
before the Fall semester begins.
We will receive your SAR (Student Aid Report) electronically and we will then
calculate your financial aid award if you do not have any
outstanding requirements (see below under Verification) and have already
been admitted to UH Manoa.
Please take note of the following important deadlines:

Applicants Selected For Verification
Your application for Federal student aid may be selected for a process
called verification. This means that our office must
verify the accuracy of the information that you submitted on the FAFSA. If
selected, you must submit a verification worksheet, federal tax returns,
and/or other supporting documents. Until your information has been
verified, a financial aid award cannot be issued to you.
You will be notified by e-mail for any outstanding documents we need to
process your application. You can also view the outstanding
requirements by accessing your online Student Aid Report (comments
section) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Failure to submit the verification documents will
result in your financial aid file being closed.
If any of the data reported on the FAFSA is found to be incorrect, your
financial aid eligibility will be recalculated.
Upon completion of all verification requirements, a financial aid award
letter will be e-mailed to you. You must accept
or decline your financial aid award on MyUH Portal (https://myuhportal.hawaii.edu)
within 30 days or your awards will be cancelled.
