Cherry Rojo Lacsina

I have been working at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa since I graduated with my BA in Spring 2010. I first worked at the Department of Sociology for 5 years and then moved to the Department of Electrical Engineering for 1.5 years. I am currently in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures working as a Graduate Advisor and Assistant to the Chair. In May 2012, I graduated with my MA in Educational Administration in Higher Education from the UHM College of Education. My experience in the Filipino program gave me the confidence to travel and communicate in the Philippines without a guide. It has also allowed me to connect with my culture on a regular basis through cooking, music, and current events. Moreover, I am currently collecting Filipino folk songs and materials for my son to learn Filipino as soon as he's born in a few months. In the future, I'd like to create a small family business that showcases our Filipino culture. I've attended several business classes and workshops to start planning this business.
