USCIS Petition & Application Fees
Please note the following:
- Separate checks or money orders: Each applicable fee must be paid by a separate check or money order.
- Bank/Institution in the U.S. & U.S. $: Fees must be drawn on a bank or other institution located in the U.S. and be payable in U.S. currency.
- Make fees payable to: U.S. Department of Homeland Security
- Staple fees to appropriate forms: Each fee should be stapled to the bottom right corner of the first page of the appropriate form.
H-1B [top]
H-1B employees are prohibited from paying any of the fees associated with filing H-1B petitions. The UH college/school/unit/department is responsible for paying all H-1B-related fees (excluding the Form I-539 filing fee for H-4 dependents).

E-3 [top]
E-3 employees are prohibited from paying any of the fees associated with filing E-3 petitions.
The UH college/school/unit/department is responsible for paying all
E-3-related fees (excluding the Form I-539 filing fee for E-3D
dependents).
An E-3 petition does not need to be filed for an employee who will enter the U.S. in E-3 status from abroad. In such a case, no E-3 petition fees apply, but if he/she needs an E-3 entry visa from a U.S. embassy/consulate, he/she will need to pay an E-3 visa fee.
