Hawaiian/Second Language: Course Articulation

Courses that are equivalent to UHM Hawaiian/Second Language (HSL) courses count toward meeting the HSL requirement.

UH articulation

  • All standard 2-year language sequences offered by UH campuses transfer to UHM as satisfying the HSL requirement. For example, SPAN 101, 102, 201, 202.

  • UH campuses that offer non-equivalent language courses may request that a course transfer to UHM as satisfying the HSL requirement by submitting a syllabus and catalog description to the UHM Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
