Teaching Science as Inquiry

In 2008 the UH Manoa GK-12 fellows and the UH Manoa Curriculum Research & Development Group partnered with the Maui Economic Development Board and the Hawaii Department of Education to develop and implement a series of workshops on teaching science as inquiry.

The workshops here held in Maui in July and December 2008, with additional support provided to teachers throughout the year. Teachers received instruction in teaching science as inquiry. Teachers also received detailed Science Inquiry Kits with inquiry-based lessons and materials to implement the lessons in classrooms and in the field.
