The University of Hawaii at Manoa’s GK-12 program relied on partnerships to achieve its success. Fellows partnered with K-12 schools, university departments, and informal education institutions to create comprehensive programs that highlighted the Fellows’ research while meeting state standards through inquiry-based, place-based, and hands-on projects. Through these partnerships, Fellows improved their science communication skills and helped to enrich STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) content in Hawaii.
