Change in Degree Requirements

When the degree requirements of a graduate program undergo changes, a student already enrolled in the program is by default subject to the old degree requirements. In the event that a certain required course is no longer available due to program changes, a student may petition to make reasonable course substitutions. See Academic Policies < Courses Applicability.

If a currently enrolled student elects to fulfill new degree requirements instead of the old degree requirements, the student needs to obtain approval from the graduate chair, who will in turn notify the Graduate Records Office via a memo. Until such a memo has been received by the Graduate Records Office, the student is subject to the old degree requirements.
