Health Insurance
UHM requires all international students to maintain comprehensive
medical insurance for the duration of study. International Student Services (ISS) can assist
international students in selecting appropriate insurance
and health care services for themselves and their dependents.
ISS also assists students with insurance claims.
The university sponsors two student insurance plans. Students
who are employed as graduate assistants may elect to purchase
a UHM employee health insurance plan. International students
who wish to purchase a health insurance before coming to the
United States should correspond with ISS beforehand.
