Program Overview

The graduate certificate program in resource management at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa (UHM) is a cooperative program that involves primarily the College of Social Sciences (CSS), the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR), and the East-West Center (EWC)*.

Because of its diverse topical components, multi-disciplinary faculty, and practical application throughout Asia and the Pacific, the program is ideal for students who are pursuing graduate studies in traditional disciplines and also seeking expertise in environmental resource management.

This program provides students with specialized training in an area that augments their primary field and develops their pragmatic problem-solving and decision-making skills through analysis of real-world problems.

* Participating CSS departments include the Departments of Anthropology, Economics, Geography, and Urban and Regional Planning. Participating CTAHR departments include the Departments of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, and Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences. Participating EWC programs include the Program on Environment, and the Program on Resources: Energy and Minerals.
