Dr. Bruce Shiramizu is a Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Medicine in the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii, Manoa.

He is an investigator in the Hawaii HIV Immunobiology and Vaccine Laboratory of the Hawaii AIDS Clinical Research Program.

He completed medical school at the University of Utah; pediatric residency at Buffalo Children's Hospital, State University of New York, Buffalo, New York; and pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD.

Research Interests

Dr. Shiramizu's research interests focus around the role of HIV-1 in causing neurological problems and cancer.
