Morning Keynote Speaker:

Lois-ellin Datta

Lois-ellin Datta is President of Datta Analysis and Senior Scholar at the Kohala Center. Dr. Datta provides consulting services in statistics, evaluation, and policy analysis internationally. She has a Ph.D. in comparative and physiological psychology, an M.A. in social psychology from Bryn Mawr College, and an M.A. in sociology and B.A. in psychology from West Virginia University. In addition to many technical reports, Dr. Datta has written over 100 articles and three books. Dr. Datta has served as President of the American Evaluation Association, as Board Member, and as Editor-in-Chief of New Directions for Evaluation. A recipient of numerous awards, including the Myrdal Award for Government Evaluation, she is a long-time member of the Editorial Boards of the American Journal of Evaluation, the Journal of Multidisciplinary Evaluation, and New Directions in Evaluation. Dr. Datta is a frequent lecturer and keynote speaker. She has written three books and over 100 journal articles on evaluation, assessment, and policy analysis. She is also a coffee farmer and has held a U.S. Coast Guard Captain's license.

Afternoon Special Plenary Session Speaker:

Christina Tydeman

Christina Tydeman is the Data Governance Director for the Hawaii State Department of Education. Dr. Tydeman oversees the development of the DOE’s Hawaii Partnership for Educational Research Consortium and K12 Statewide Longitudinal Data System.  She has a Ph.D. in educational psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, an M.S. in curriculum and instruction from Dominican University, and a B.A. in speech/drama from University of California, Chico. Dr. Tydeman has 15 years of teaching experience in elementary and middle school levels. She was a teacher leader within the California Subject Matter Projects and has served as a regional professional development administrator and mentor.
