Rationale:
As a class,
everyone will discuss the research findings of Hawaiiís mountains and
volcanoes. Using these findings,
students will construct a relief map of the Big Island of Hawaii. This project will provide students with
opportunities to develop cognitive, affective, and psychomotor skills and
abilities. Students will develop
higher order thinking skills, which include problem solving, synthesizing,
analyzing, interpreting and judging. This project will allow the students to
nurture their creativity, imagination and originality. Finally, throughout the
lesson students will be accountable and responsible for their own learning and
they will recognize their work and performance as that of the best quality.
