The Hawaii Geographic Alliance (HGA) is part of a national network of Alliances organized to revitalize the teaching and learning of geography. The annual Alliance Summer Geography Institute (ASGI) is one of HGA's many programs organized for Hawaii's teachers.
HGA is supported by: National Geographic Society; Hawaii State Department of Education; and the University of Hawaii Manoa, College of Social Sciences, Department of Geography
WHAT IS ASGI? The institute is the beginning of a training and professional development cycle for teachers. This year the sessions will be held on Saturdays with a four-day segment at the end. Should you decide to apply and are accepted, you will:
WHO CAN APPLY FOR THE INSTITUTE?
Full-time classroom teachers, resource teachers and curriculum coordinators who are enthusiastic about learning geography and adding knowledge of the world.
