Kite making

Prepare: for each student:
- -trace kite pattern on white trash bags and cut.(mark top with mark to identify)
- -about 10 yards of kite twine wrapped around cardboard pieces
- -1 bridle each - 36" of kite twine
- -2 - 12" spines (skewers or cut bamboo blinds )(skewers do have points which are dangerous, please cut.)
- -2 black trash bag tails for kites (strips about 1"x15")
- -masking tape pieces
Procedure:
- Give each student one kite piece. Have them lay it out in front of them with marking on top.
- Have them tape 12" spines on kite.
- Tape bridle to each side. Find center of bridle. Tie a knot, leaving a small loop to attach twine.
- Tape down tails.
- Tie your flying line to the center of the bridle.
- Go fly a kite.
